If paint is that much of an issue to you just find another stang.

If you don't want your paint like a show car then it will cost like 800-1400 bucks good luck.....

keep looking, if the paint is that bad i would keep looking, i hit a bombshell with my car, nice chrome buillit rims, custom MAC catback, GT automatic, people are always telling me wow you have a GT and its automatic, i hit them with this "it was 6,500, the paint i beautiful and the rims are shiny as hell, it would not have been worth giving up because it is not manual" and they day the guy drove it to my house me and my dad noticed a 4 foot long key mark goign down the drivers side, its not that noticeable but it is there, im still glad i bought it though

ok i dont know if im getting really lucky with mustangs or something but both my mustangs i've bought were in the 5k range for a 2000gt and a 2001 gt...both had about 50k miles on them when i bought both in the last year...but 7k for a mustang with 93k miles and a bad paint job seems way too high for me...but then again it is a dealer what do you expect..try to find one locally..@ 93k miles, I bet the alternator needs to be replaced..it probably has stock plugs, which probably need to be replaced, and the fuel system most likely needs to be cleaned...also check the fuel fill pipe for rust..take the car for a test drive and smell the pipe for a gas leak..2000gts are known for that problem..dealers are out to make money..someone was willing to trade it in for way less...the goal is to try to find that person before they get the chance to think about a trade in..also think about resale...you buy a car @ 93k you will prolly sell @ 140k...no one will buy a stang @ 140k unless they are wanting to part it out...buy a car with 50k-60k max it'll hold it resell value.

Most folks who run the autotrader ads want to find a car CLOSE to their house...

Re-run the search and allow yourself more room, say 75 miles.

You might be surprised at the variety this offers.

And yes, start at something more like $5500. What's the worst that can happen, he counter-offers?
