Default removing paint without sanding

i found out my "blue" side skirts original color are black! they just painted over the black so i started chippin' away at the paint but its taking forever
anybody know of something to remove the top coat of paint but not the bottom coat? i tried a razor blade but it leaves 2 lines from the edges of the blade

No way I know of that won't also attack the lower coats. Star trek nannites, maybe.

Otherwise, just plan on doing the sanding thing, followed by sealing, priming, blocking, etc, repeat as needed.

And then painting, color plus clear coat.

best bet is to use aircraft stripper, remove all the paint, then get 'em primered and re-painted.

if you use striper to take the paint off make sure its safe to use on plastic. normal striper will eat at your side skirts as well as your paint! use a urathain bumber striper, you can get it at any of your auto paint supply stores. i think it is easier to sand, i personaly dont like to use stripper

I agree with Travis and Trippleblack. Sanding will be your best bet and also net you the best results.

thanks everyone
i was looking for my clay bar kit maybe that will work
the paint isnt really stuck on there
i can remove it with just my nail but i just got the idea of sticking tape on and just letting it rip! the paint will stick to the tape and come off....
