So I'm new to the mustang world and was wondering if it was a good idea to put a supercharger( probably the the vortech) on my engine which has 98,000 on it? I've read that the the s-trim puts out about 9-10 psi. Is that too much for stock internals? Should I go more towards the 5-6 psi range? By the way, its also a daily driver. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ive seen my shop put superchargers on stangs with over 100k before. It should be fine just dont kill it all the time. Also you should still be able to take 9-10psi, just have it safely dyno tuned for it. If your wanting to go over 12psi, then its time to build the bottom end.

Do a complete tune up and check the engine, verify it has good compression and no other issues.
I put my blower on at 78,000 miles and with 9# of boost I have 109,000 miles and it runs smoother than when I bought it. (I ran 6# of boost until 98,000 miles and then upped the boost to 9# with a better tune)
Keep the oil topped off, run synthetic and keep the car in perfect tune. The engine could still have another 50,000 or 100,000 miles left in it unless you put in bad gas, get too aggressive a tune, over rev it or drive it like you stole it daily.

If ur just wanting to add power then don't go with a s/c I have 77k and I wouldn't even do it. Get heads and cams total u can gain anywhere from 40-80 hp depending on ur mods. This way u get the hp u want along with a built motor. Then to take it farther save up for a forged short block and then a/c to put 600hp down

+1. If compression is good, and the tune is conservative, you're fine.
I wouldn't start digging into the motor at that kind of mileage. Wait for it to go boom before you start dealing with engine parts.
