Save for a power adder thats where the big horsepower is at. Gears are definitely a good way to notice the power you already have but your not gaining any from it. Plus if its a daily driver, those 3.27s or whatever you got are going to come in handy when cruising down the highway at 70 mph and still getting 25 mph.

..and the STOCK engine is only good for 8-9lbs of boost (kenne bell), u can go more..but borrowed time
- 3:73 gears would be good and you would enjoy them
- than just get your speedo recalibrated at Ford or do like i did and not do it for awhile
- adj lower control arms, springs (<--if you pass on the programmer) this will set you up for a BETTER ride, and it sets the stage for more power later Ie blower etc, and say good bye to the 4x4 look
i dont think the progammer would be money well spent, just based on your current mods....do the gears at least
The boost # isn't what limits what the engine can handle, it is the tune and the whp / wtq that kills the engine.
If the tune is conservative, a stock engine can handle around 400 whp without issue. Go much over that and it is on borrowed time. Set an hp goal prior to buying the kit. I decided that 400whp or less was perfect for me, so I bought a Saleen Series IV blower which is limited to around 400whp unless Nitrous is used with it.
If you keep the engine well maintained, run good fuel and don't beat on it all the time, a 9# kit should last a long time. My car has 30,000 miles on the blower kit (15,000 with 6# and 15,000 with 9# of boost) total mileage of 109,000 miles. No smoking and runs like new. I can get 25 mpg on the interstate using the cruise too.

TY, VERY WELL explained, and I had wanted to ask you about your car earlier....

ok, lets not hi-jack the thread....is everyone in agreement...gears, for the guy?
- grn ...my wife may PM you for some specifics on her build, heads up
