So I know its a little off topic, but I just wanted some input. I was in the Air Force for 8 years as an aircraft mechanic. I just got out in June, my wife is still in the Air Force and we just got stationed in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I'm highly considering going to UTI in Orlando. I'm not entirely sure what company I would like to specialize in. So if anybody on here has gone or is going to UTI, hook me up with some info please. Just wondering if its worth it and what's the best speciality program( ie- whats gonna get me the most money when I graduate and start working) Thanks guys
im currently attending uti im about to graduate i love it its a great program i reccomend it im gona be a ford specialist then continue and go another year and become a porshe specialist thats where the money is obviously lol
Yeah I was thinkin of doin the ford program, but like you said the money is in the import/exotic business. Porsche sounds awesome, too bad they dont have it in orlando. I think the only cool one is BMW. I read they arent doing the Benz program any more.
I havent gone but I work with a number of people who went to UTI here in Mooresville, NC. They took the Nissan/Infiniti course and said it was a good experience but they dont use a lot of what they learned in class at work lol. I thought about going but decided it actually wasnt for me so I took a course in PDR autobody work in Orlando Florida for a couple weeks.

So would you suggest getting my automotive education from there? Everywhere I've looked online, its rated #1 out of all schools. I've heard alot about wyotech, but Im in florida and that just doesnt work for me. What other routes are there to pursue a career in auto tech? I just want to get started asap, make some money and actually do something I love. I was an aircraft mech for 8 years, but it just did spin my tires like cars do.

Yeah these guys that have come out of that school and taken the Nissan certification classes are making good money now. I think its like a 16 month course for them or something. They also will help you to find part time jobs like changing oil or rotating tires somewhere while your in school and then after you graduate send out your resume and try to help you start your career.

I'de have to say it was a long course but I graduated in 05 doing the Uti, Nascar and Ford programs. It was a great learning experience and would suggest it to anyone looking to further their skills.
I didn't attend the school thinking I was going to work in Nascar or a dealership, just wanted more in-depth knowledge than what I had.
Anyone that has a fear of electronics/electrical may reconsider.
Lastly, if you go their to learn.. you will.. Stay focused.
