Default 1998 mustang gt engine swap. Which one?

So i have a 1998 mustang gt with the stock engine rated at 225. I would really like to get a stronger engine, but i do not know 1 if its worth it or if i should just spend the money on parts for the one i have now, and also which one should i get? I look online and all i find are the real old ones for restoring the classics.

so please point me in the right direction.

-thanks

Go to Ford Racing Parts they have a couple on there. Expensive, but it might be what you're lookin for.

Here I found a good one for you. Ford Crate Engines: High Performance Engines | ATK Custom Built Crate Engines
Just go to Yahoo and type in Ford crate engines for sale, and a bunch of good sites came up for me. I guess it would all depend on how much you want to spend.

Default boss 302 or aluminator 4.6l dohc supercharged

Well which do you think. The boss 302 is not a perfect fit so it'll take some work, but the 4.6 will fit easier but i think has less horses, but does have a supercharger so i dunno price is close so thats not a factor

Well that 4.6 isnt supercharged, the block is built to handle a supercharger. Its essentially the same block from the 03-04 cobra. If you want no hassle and want just a drop in and go motor try E-bay and type in either 03-04 cobra crate motor or 4.6 motor. Should get some good stuff then.

The '99 and up engines have PI heads and better intakes...I think they are rated like 40 hp more or so. I also have a '98 GT and was really disappointed with the power of the 4.6....I think 225 hp rating is stretching it a bit.

I swapped out the '98 engine for a '00 4.6 and bolted on a PowerDyne supercharger, new chip, 3.73 rear gears, flowmaster exhaust, and a K&N filter system. The difference is night and day...now it hard NOT to roast the tires!! Good luck...
