the 01 GT i just baught is what i thaught a perfect car. no leaks. IRS, some fancy mods. i was curious, i drive around for alittle bit and when the car heats up the gear shift gets hot. i know it gets alittle hot but this gets hot hot. but not hot enough to where i burn my hand its just uncomfy. also the other day i was stop and go up a 140*ish hill and i get it gas. the car lost power and i heard a little annoying on and off scraping sound coming right from under the shifter, and it still heats up.. today i changed the trans lube and the shifter still heats up. It has a steeda tri ax short throw and i have it set to the shortest posistion i can get it. Any idea why this does this? the car isn't leaking anything. No codes... Nothing's loose and it's clean... Any ideas? only 46.6kmiles

the car from my bassani catted X is right next to the drain plug on the tranny, that could effect temps? oh it also has been fairly hot up here in new york state. I dont remember it getting this hot when it was about 40 or 50 outside. now its about 65-75*

Bump.......

The Car runs nice and find except for that little issue of the gear shifter heating up wich sounds really stupid, but gear shifter heating up and the chattering under the gear shifter going up a steep hill. There where NO metal chips in the trans fluid. just alittle grey abd worn out
