i think you can get in 12s, but itll take lots of money, mainly you'll need aftermarket heads, cams and machine work, bigger injectors, maf/tb, tune on and on.

I think that it could be done. The bolt ons you add has to work with each other. Meaning don't put on bigger injectors and then not modify the Mass Air Flow sensor or throttle body.

Back to the basic. Air, fuel, ignition, exhaust. Getting more of each is how you gain HP. You can accomplish these at first w/o tearing the motor apart.

With the bolt on's, traction and good shifting. I think that possiblility is there.

+ 1 on that. It is entirely possible with the right suspension setup and slicks or M/T DRs you can break can break into the 12s. Your average GT with full bolt ons can run in the 13.50 -13.60 range(depending on elevation, weather, etc.) w/ a 2.00 60 ft. If you can hook in the 1.6-1.7 you can see high 12s but it will put extra strain on the drive train.

It's all about the launch and the driver. Get the right gear set, 4.10-4.30 and learn how to launch well and you should get there. No need for head work, bigger injectors and all that. Just learn how to drive the car and get as much air in and out of the motor as efficiently as possible.

+1 on this. A guy named Bill Putnam (goes by Mustang92 on many boards) was deep into the 12's 6 or 7 years ago with only basic bolt-ons, slicks, and a 4.30 gearset.

All it takes is a skilled driver and an aggressive mindset. His valve covers were never off.

Yeah we had his videos on here somewhere of hime running like a 12.7 with like a catback, intake, tune and the gears. Then I heard he put a cam in there and ran like a 12.1-12.3.

Yea man. Look at this

Then cammed

Its very possible. I ran a 13.6 with 4.10s mid pipe exhaust, CAI, tb and plenum. Im going with an aluminum driveshaft, Nittos, and a few small bolt ons and my car should be really close to that.

my buddy i work with ran a 13.3 on an 01 gt with cai, 75mm throttle body, 24# injectors, x pipe, slp loudmouth catback, 3.73 gears, custom dyno tune, cobra springs, and drag radials.

he just added long tubes, a bigger MAF and got it re-tuned. put down 275 whp and is convinced he will hit a 12.9 next month at the drag strip

Getting the 60' time down as low as possible is the key. Once you goof the launch, there's no recovering.

Yup, Trevor has been cutting low 12's. He's around on a bunch of other forums if you look around.
