Nobody said otherwise. What I did say was the T45 was in the GT's until early to mid -'01.
cfkboyz..... Yes, the idea behind the Tr-3650 was do "fix the issues" that the T45 had. The only problem with that theory is they didn't do such a good job. The T45 and the Tr-3650 are 2 totally different types of 5 speeds. About the only thing they have in common is that they are both 5 speeds.
The T45 is what they call a single rail linkage system where the 3650 is a multi-rail. The single rail systems (like the T5 and the T56 6 speeds) are known for there smooth shifting capabilities while the multi rail linkage systems(like the TKO's) are notchy.
If you ask any one who has worked on both, if they answer honestly, they will say the 3650 is not as good as the T45. The only issue with the T45 that was a PITA was the "jump out of reverse" syndrome that most experienced. Fortunately, we at Keisler Engineering, have come up with a fix for that along with a laundy list of other mods we do to it to make it even better and stronger than the 3650. I have been running one of our very first T45RS's in my '00GT for almost 2 years now and it is flawless. It has a 26 spline input (unlike the inherently weak 10 splines that came stock on all factory Ford
tranny's) which makes it stronger along with carbon fiber syncros and blockers, brass fork pads and "tricked out clutch cones" make our version T45RS capable of handling 425ft/lbs continuous where the stock T45's were rated at 325ft/lbs and the 3650's were rated at 360ft/lbs.
