Default Newbie with some Questions

So I just purchased 2000 Ford Mustang GT 4V.

I need a new clutch. Where can I find/get the best deals online? I have a mechanic that will charge $250 installation. Looking around online for deals. I figured I can get some help here.

I read an article on the IAC and idle issues. I have an idle issue. I come to a stop or slow down the car will sometimes shut off. I am thinking fuel pump or IAC after reading the thread. I guess I will replace the IAC first since it is the cheaper of the two and wouldnt hurt to replace it anyways.

Any thoughts?

Thanks In Advance!!!!!

Welcome to the site!

First, do you have a GT or a Cobra? You say GT but you also say 4V which would be the DOHC 4.6 in the Cobra. I only state that so you don't buy wrong parts down the line that are either GT or Cobra specific.

Regardless, check out all the sponsor's of the site here. There's a list of them in the forums list and many have discounts for AFM members. I won't list names so you can make your own decision but I'll say I've had great service from all the sponsors I've used here.

Keep us posted!

As an FYI - I ordered a Spec Stage II for my 96GT with the Steeda Quadrant and firewall adjuster... quality all around...

The 4V motors are easy to pick out, they have a dual blade throttle body and the 2V have a single blade.
