Default 01 GT, 03 Mach1 engine swap

Howdy,

I have an 03 Mach that needs an engine rebuild. Can I swap an 01 GT SOHC motor for it while I work on the DOHC without any modifications to the computer chip?

Thanks
Frank

im pretty sure you would have to change a lot of things man. like the computer and all of the same stuff one would have to change to go from 2v to 4v just the opposite. you can search for 2v to 4v swap and find all sorts of threads and id bet you can find your answer there

Thanks for the info. I Had the GT motor in storage when my wife's car (the Mach) engine started to go, she loves that car and I wanted her to have something to drive while I had the block and heads machined and checked. There is alot of info out there that seems to conflict with each other??? Some say the harness has to be modified and others say no, while some say the chip has to be changed??? Has me scratching my head. The mechanical aspects are not a proble, with ,e, but the electronic (EEC, CCRM) have me concerned as to causing damage to the GT motor.
