Default reverse high and low beams

I hate driving in the dark. I bought a set of clear headlight assemblies for my 98 GT convertible, and they threw out no more light that the OEM frosted headlights did. So I bought a set of Euro-look headlights, and they throw out much more light. And they're even better when aimed low and switched to high-beams.

However, when the high beams are on, the fog light are off. How can I change that? Can someone tell me how to bypass that condition? If I rewire high-low and low-to-high, will there be any strange side-effects?

Thank you.

You should have just got off road light bulbs and that would have solved your problem with the old housings.

You could just switch the power lead at the bulb.

But you also need to consider that if you are driving this car on the street there are other drivers. Even if you aim the light down they are still really bright and could cause a accident.

Default Off road lights

That is what I did on my 07 GT. I changed out the fog lights with 6" off road lights and wired them direct to a switch. Then installed driving lights in the lower grill and connected the fog light wires to them. At 55w each and that low they provide a great light to supplement the regular driving lights. And no complaints from passing cars. When I am on the back roads late at night I can run the other lights.

That may change now though. I got the ideal of the lights when I had my Saab Sonnett, worked out well. But now I kind of miss running the in-grill, definite Mustang lights. I do not want to put the cheap plastic things back in, I like the glass of the off road. So I ordered 55ww yellow H3 lights to replace the 150w ones and will run them as normal fog.

if you wanted to have your foglights work seperately from the headlights to where you use the brights and foglights you could try this modification to your foglights. i did it to mine and it allows me to have mine on with only the parking lights, like the new edge stangs, and stays on even when the brights are on here is the link :
