Default 4.10 gears: How much of an improvement?

My next mod will more than likely be 4.10 gears and SCT SF3 tuner combo. I know this will help my car tremendously off the line, but I'm just curious as to how much of a gain I'm going to see.
How much will this lower my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times?

I have 3.73's but my buddy has 4.10's. The difference between stock gears is night and day. If you plan to stay N/A, get the 4.10s, but if you plan to go blown or T kits get the 3.73's.

Good luck!

I took my car to the track when I had my 3.27's and I would hit redline in third Just before the 1/4 mile mark, so I was wasting my time shifting, but running out of steam staying in 3rd... now i'm well into 4th gear at the quarter mile.
I'm not sure of the time difference though. the track in spokane washington was never set up to a timer when i went ($10 open track fridays), and now my cheap bfg ta's wont hook up at all if i try to launch it... my best time was a 14.2- and that was starting in second as to not spin all the way through first... if Traction wasnt an issue and i could actually launch the car like it ought to be launched, I'd guess it would have knocked .5 off the times.

My 5spd w/ 4.10s and new upper and lower control arms was like .2-.3 sec faster in the 1/8 mile w/o really trying... and i bet i could get a little more out of her too

My guess is ABOUT a half second give or take.

I drive my car everyday too... and i love my 4.10s!

If you drive highway regularly youll notice decreased mpg but only when your cruising on the highway. But with that said its not bad for the occasional highway driver. At about 67mph and my rpms are like 2200-2300rpm.

Now around town Im getting a little better mpg..... when I keep my foot out of it that is

Hey TATMONSTER- How do you like those UDPs??? What brand did you go with? Woth it?

Last year at the strip my best run was a 14.02 @ 100.7mph. But my average was like 14.2 @ 99.8mph.

This year Ive added 4.10's, CAI, 70mmTB and C&L Plenum (never made a run with my x pipe yet) and Ive gotten a 13.6 @ 104mph. My best mph so far is a 104.7. So just with 4.10's and some intake Ive added about 5mph to my trap speed. I have to ride the clutch all through first and granny shift second and even ride the clutch alittle in 2nd. Then I can powershift 3rd and 4th.

I just bought some Nitto Drag Radials so I dont have to ride my clutch the whole time. My trap speed is a low 13 sec speed...And if I get a 1.9 60 foot, compared to my 2.3's, my mph will go from about 37mph to about 45mph just in 60ft.

Around town there fine. And highway doesnt bother me. Im usually doing 75-80mph on the highway and it doesnt bother me at all.

Your rpm at 80 will be right at 3000. 373s are like 2600. I would go 4.10s if I did it again.

since your car is a stick iwould go with 3;73s if its an auto go 4;10s igot the steeda udp's and ilike them alot i installed them at the same time i installed my intake plenum and tb so i noticed a big gain but that was both parts but for sure if you get a set of pullies go with steeda other brands are piggyback style and they wobble really bad

Gas mileage isn't something I will worry about when upgrading my gears. I'm used to driving trucks and getting 10-14mpg.
