So this past weekend my two buddies raced each other for the first time and the race was kinda strange. The 04 is a manual and the 01 was auto. The 04 had i/tb/plenum/e/tune and the 01 had i/e from what we could see. When they took off the race sounded like it was a normal race until the 01 sounded like the motor just came alive it chirpped the tires from 1-2 shift it sounded really healthy my buddy in the 04 still beat him but I wanted to find out from you guys what you think the 01 had in it to make the car sound like it just came a live. I say a small hit of nitrous but not to sure. What do you guys think? There was a big difference between when they took off and when the 01 flipped a switch or something.
Not sure what it was, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't nitrous. If it was, your friend should have/would have lost. Even a little 75 shot would easily take a bolt-on car.
i doubt he sprayed it if he did the 04 would have lost i would say its just a well tuned gt in an automatic with gears you dont have much of a first gear my auto really opens up mid way through first and will bark the tires bigtime when it hits second gear with 4;10s

I have a 2000 gt a/t and its basically bone stock (exhaust and full intake system coming soon ) and if you punch it just right it will almost always spin the back wheels from 1st to 2nd
It soounds like the power band in the tranny kicked in they hit pretty hard! but not like a 5 speed does with a gear! since the 04 pulled away i doubt it was nitrous!
