I researched for about a month on what I wanted as far as exhaust. I listened to and researched SLP's, Magnaflows, and Flowmasters. The SLP LM 1's caught my attention and they're what I went with. I have no regrets as they sound awesome on my car and it is by far the best exhaust system I have owned...and I've owned quite a few.
The SLP's were an easy install, they are a quality product, and they look as good as they sound!

i was originally gonna go with flowmasters but somebody told me the loudmouth would give me more hp because theyre straight through and they would be louder. but i want the throaty muscle car sound like the flowmasters... hmmmm

With exhaust go for the sound you want. The amount of hp gain/loss between various mufflers and x/h pipes are miniscule. Nobody has ever lost a race, because of the 3hp more, they could have made with a different muffler or x/h pipe!
If you want the old school "muscle car" sound, an h-pipe and 1 or 2 chamber Flowmasters (or another chambered muffler) is the way to go. If you want the "modern euro" sound go with an x-pipe and straight through mufflers.
Btw, if you're looking for loud, the 2 chamber Flowmaster 40's are louder than the 2 chamber 44's. The 1 chambers are even louder still. My setup is Hooker longtubes, o/r h-pipe and Flowmaster 40's, no tailpipes. You could call it loud.

This post pretty much sums it up. Buy a catback for the sound, period.....
As far as 1 chamber flowmasters, I have them with an off-road X, and they're LOUD!!!! Too loud and raspy for me, honestly. I'm swapping to a H with my header install to get rid of the raspiness, and then I'll make a decision on whether to keep them or not.
3/4 throttle run with a soft take-off....(clutch was slipping a tad)
Its a tough decision, I had SLP LM1 cat-back for awhile but wanted a deeper loud NASCAR sound. About a year later I got the SLP Catted X-pipe added on and you wont believe the difference. If you want a racecar sound go with full SLP, prices aren't too bad either. I would recommend professional install, especially the X-pipe.
just doin some research before i buy. what about the single chamber flowmasters...?? anybody heard those? how do they hold up to the slp?
There are 2 types of 1 chambers. There are some really small ones (which are next to nothing and sound like crap) and the other ones are slightly smaller than a 2 chamber but loud.
Your probably already doing it, but you tube helped me a lot in my which exhaust to get research. Those people on you tube have everything you can think of.
I have Mac 3" with 3 1/2" tips. I also run a Dynomax 2 1/2" offroad X pipe. It's sounds awesome, but is a little on the loud side. I'm entertaining going with a Basanni catted X pipe. But as far as sound........ at idle, outside, my car sounds like it's in a tunnel. And driving it just gets better.
