Default Help me decide 2004 Saleen S281 Non S/C

I am thinking about buying a mustang saleen. Here are the infos.

2004 Mustang Saleen non s/c s281
9500 miles
Red/Gray leather, convertible (black top)
1 original owner, clean carfax, title

my question:
1. How much is this car worth? He is asking $24k, possibly negotiate to $23k. How much would you seriously pay?

2. What is the horsepower on non s/c saleen?

3. How much is it to add s/c? Would adding s/c make this saleen not a saleen?

4. How desirable is a non s/c saleen convertible? Would I have a hard time to sell this in the future?

Thanks for all your help!!!

How many miles are on the car? I would think it seems a little overpriced for the non-SC saleen. Also, a supercharger would be a great addition and most def raise the fun factor of the car. Here is a saleen SC I saw on sale for $1800 I believe, not sure it's still for sale though. This will keep it saleen alike. Good luck.

For that price I'd look for a low mile 03-04 SVT Cobra!
Saleen is bankrupt and out of business! Not the greatest performing and handling car either!

I agree, why not just get an 03-04 Cobra for that price... A really nice one too at that. Probably really upgraded with a lot of HP rather than paying 24 and then another 5 grand in supercharging it. Then your basically at 30 grand.... I vote for 03-04 Cobra!

I would def check out an 03/04 cobra for that amount. The non s/c is basically the 260hp/302tq. If it was supercharged, then maybe pay low 20's, your just paying a lot extra for the name and body kit.

It's worth what someone will pay for it...I'd look for a supercharged version of a Stang for that kinda loot..be patient, the economy stinks, you can get a deal if you just keep looking

Seriously... you can find a used 2005 or newer Supercharged with low miles for that amount. Condition does make a difference on price, but the market's real soft right now.

i recently supercharged my 2003 gt mustang with the saleen series IV complete kit. ( amongst other mods) i am making 465 rwhp and 513 tourqe. i will agree that it is not inexpensive. the kit was about 5k and i installed it. with the the custome tune ( because of all of my other mods) ran me about 2k more. i will tell you that i have never been beaten on the road. amongst sti, z06 vetts, you name it. and several cobra mustang, including the 03, 04, and the new gt500 kr. it may just be cheaper and easier to get a cobra but in my opinion if your gonna get one you better be prepared to be passed by me
i am speaking in general of course

I have no doubt that your car is brutally fast and I believe you've never been beat. Just watch those Terminators and Z06s though!
