so i took the 04 up to the strip last night. it was awfully humid and nobody was getting traction last night. my first pass was a 14.9 with a horrible 2.3 60 ft. so the second run i knocked hardly any time off, so i decided to let it cool off for a while. and then i got up for one last pass and pulled a 2.1 60 and a 14.6...... the car is bone stock except for flows and window tint...... considering i have some super hard crappy nanking tires, do you all think that i could have done better??? i'm snatching gears like crazy and chirping 2nd and 3rd no problem.... i think the launch is where maybe another tenth is at?? thanks
If it was really humid out then thats not bad. The 60foot is pretty good in my opinion.
Last year, in my 03 GT I ran a 14.023 @ 100.68mph being bone stock...just an SLP catback. That was without powershifting and a 2.18 60 foot. But that was a cool night out.

k, thanks... sorry it took so long toget back. talking with others that ran they we're all off by .2 - .3 of a second, which makes me feel a little better. i ran my times on a density altitude calculator and it brought me to a 14.3.... so is there legitamacy(sp?) in those calcs?? the concept makes sense but are they accurate?
thanks! i'm fixing to drop some 3.73s in it, or maybe 3.90s... so i'll be working on the tires next.... i was pleased with my 60fts considering those three times were the first three times that i ever tried launching the car.... i'm so used to the gear being there that when i drop the clutch it'll scoot... but of course practice makes perfect...
run 3.73s and a good set of DR's. Youll hook no problem and improve that 60ft where you need it. Add some exhaust and an intake. Youll notice a huge difference. Remember to tune afterwards to get full potentional, youll have to re calibrate the speed o anyways when you do the gears.

you read my mind... kinda what i did with the 97... i'll wait till i get outta school for the big mods
Nope. 4.10s with drag radial and youll get some sweet 1.8sec or quicker 60's. Like I said that my master plan and thats the set up all the "quicker" manual tranny 2v run.

which brings up my next issue.... gas mileage.... the car is my daily driver.... so what kind of mileage are you getting city? highway? combined? i don't want to kill my mileage, i do have a little lead foot.... not too heavy, but enough to have fun with the silly ricers.... and one thing i just wondered is, will having the rpms higher all the time do any kind of harm to my motor??? or will it simply run cleaner because everything is running more open.... i do quite a bit of 55-65mph driving if that helps.... thanks
