yaaaa that engine bay looks almost identical to my 98 to INCLUDE the ignition system with plug wires

and p.s. she looks sharp, i just think u need a new trunk lid and/or at least a stock spoiler...they really add to the aggressive look

it looks liekone of the older motors but with a PI swap. this might be where your all the confusion is coming from. you have the newer intake manifold (with the aluminum thermostat housing and crossover) but still the old ignition system. and low 14s are completely doable with a PI 4.6. So basically the PI 4.6 is an older 4.6 with the newer (99-04) heads, cams, and intake. not a bad setup at all

Bilstien shocks + struts, Lowering springs (brand still TBD (any suggestions?)), MM CC plates, front + rear sway bars, subframes, and upper and lower control arms.
Time to make the pony ride some rails

well thats a comforting bit glad to know someone thinks its a bit different than stock. and the low 14 was done on only the 3rd pass by a jack a** driver. maybe when i get all the maintenance done ill head out to a track and get my first passes under my belt. off to fix a loose strut up front. my bad haha

I'd say no-pi motor most pi motors have the oil filler on the passenger side... but i'm not sure if they just did the head swap where the filler would be?

From what I can see from the pic there is a PI intake on the car. Could have been swapped or could be a 99 motor, looks clean though. If im correct the stock 99 intake still have the plastic coolant crossover? so if it is a 99 motor the intake has been updated to the 02-04 intake.

we would need a better picture of the intake. the aluminum cross over does not mean squat non pi intakes had them as well.

There's really not a way to tell certain if its PI or not just by looking. It could be or not, even the PI intake manifold can be bolted to the non-PI heads. Short of pulling the intake manifold and looking at the ports in the heads you can't be certain, unless you can see the casting numbers on the heads, then you could cross reference that and know for sure. I'd say just enjoy the car as it is, and do some gears, you'll love them. Low 14's is pretty fast for a non-PI so there's that, but nothing guarrantees that pass was in that car or that the timing was accurate. If you want to see what she runs, go to the track and find out, but looks like you have a pretty good car, it'd be nice to know for certain if its PI, but its really not worth it to pull the manifold, Try to find the casting numbers if you really want to know.
