Forced induction is NOT something you should even consider doing on the cheap unless you want to see your engine grenade. Swiping your girlfriends turbo won't work either, your engine needs a lot more airflow than that thing can't handle, and the boost would be very low. My preference for blowers is the kenne bell, but recently my friend did some testing with the new tork tech kits and it made very impressive numbers. If you are going forced induction, stay with the popular kits and you're best getting a kit that has been time proven to be a good one or again, expect engine to go boom. That said, you will also need to have it dyno tuned, or again, engine go boom. Boom is bad.

you really are better off waiting and spending the extra cash. there is just so much peace at mind when you buy a performance part new and it has a manufacturer warranty.

Time to make the pony ride some rails

alright, i guess ill wait and get a kit, hopefully one that comes with new injectors and everything else that id need. Not really sure what makes one brand better than another, other than what i said before about not having to tap into my oil pan which sounds like a major bonus.

26) all of the soft radiator hoses:
a) upper hose going from the crossover tube to the radiator
b) the big long one going from the middle of the crossover directly down and goes into the thermostat
c) lower hose going from lower radiator to t-stat(about 10" long)
d) hose going from oil cooler to t-stat(about 10" long also)
e) smaller diameter hose going from bottom of coolant resevoir to t-stat.

28) fuel rail pressure sensor
29) boost bypass valve actuator(circular thing with on the rear driver side of the blower)
30) gaskets:
a) intercooler cap(mounts on front of lower intake)
b) plenum to blower(if you get a supercharger with the plenum on already, then you don't need this)
c) throttle body to plenum
d) IAC valve to plenum
e) EGR valve to back of blower
f) timing cover(3 parts to this gasket, and they are all sold separately)
g) supercharger to lower intake(this one can be reused if you can get the original from the guy with the 03)
h) you can also use your original lower intake to head gaskets. you just have to cut off two small tabs(one on each one). you'll see when you try to line them up with the 03/04 lower intake.
-----> you'll also need to do something for fuel. stock 03/04 injectors are fine. you can run a BAP on your stock pump, or swap to the 03/04 tank and dual pump setup too...
you can do this with used parts for 3000 including injectors and cobra tank and pumps. just have to shop around if your in no hurry just start gathering parts..

if you decide to go with a vortech tapping the pan is no issue its a 15 minute deal..

yeah while you're saving/ collecting parts do some research on all the manufacturers and really figure out what is going to be the best route for you. vortech also makes a kit in which you do not have to tap into the oil pan with (v3) but like previously stated tapping of the oil pan only sounds intimidating.

Yeah you can do an Eaton Swap with used parts for about $3K but it's time consuming to get all the stuff!
And GOOD LUCK finding a V3 head unit for a 4.6L 4V, I've been searching for a year!! I would have to buy a Kit for the 2V just to get the Blower or pay out the ass from Vortech for it!!
They currently don't make a Kit for the 99-01 Cobras and 03-04 Machs with the self contained oiling!

thanks for the epic list john (im assuming those are manufacturer part numbers to the left?)
Not too sure if im best going with a cobra charger or one made for my car, i guess i just need to read more.
And thanks everybody else as well for the great not to mention quick info!
and yes, i wana keep the shaker functional :P even if it is just semi functional like it is stock, i still like the idea more than just having a shaker sit there for looks :P

In case you'd like to see what that Eaton swap parts list looks like when laid out on the garage floor, look at these.
