Default 2003 mach 1 forced induction ideas

Hi guys,
I have been wanting to do forced induction on my Mach for a while now (would love a procharger) however I have noticed that lately i have not jus stubled across an extra few thousand dollars (was hoping itd appear in my winter coat pocket.... all i found was lint, a stick of gum, and 75 cents )
I have been thinking about going to a junk yard, finding a car that got its butt crushed in, and seeing if i could fit a supercharger (or turbo, at this point im starting to not care) from the poor totaled car into my baby.

EDIT: After thinking about this i also thought: Hey, my girlfriend drives a WRX TR, what if i bought it bigger turbos and stole the OEM ones? hmm...

Any thoughts on this? looking for any ideas on specific cars to look for, is this just a waste of time and i should just buy one brand new for my specific car? is this totally crazy or a good idea thatd be able to work with little effort?

Thanks for any thoughts guys!

Just a quick question, if you were going to buy your girlfriend bigger turbos, why not just use the bigger turbos yourself and let her keep her stock ones?

if price is really an issue you could probably find a used non intercooled vortech, paxton, or procharger and install it in a couple of hours. granted it wont net you nearly as much power as an intercooled setup will but it is a much simpler/cheaper install.

If im not mistaken, you could just buy an 03-04 cobra supercharger and throw it on. Ive seen them between 300-700.

yeah but then the clearance to the shaker hood scoop becomes an issue and you need to customize/ raise it to make it fit properly. with the centrifugal unites you keep the functionality of the shaker as well. I'm not too sure if you could keep the induction components of the shaker system functional with a positive displacement blower.

Save up and find a D1SC with a 3-core intercooler Otherwise, you can find a nice Vortech kit for under 2k.

Too many other parts are needed to make an Eaton Blower work on a Mach 1, look into a Vortech!

Save up the money to do a sc/turbo install the right way, and forget the goofy hybrid scheme. It'll only cause you major headaches.

And to the guy suggesting "just throw a Cobra supercharger on it," LOL! if only it were that simple!!

I would look on ebay or craigslist for a used SC for Mach 1's. You could go the nitrous route too.

lot of ppl are saying vortech, though im not sure why? i origonally was looking at procharger, if for no other reason than because i dont have to tap into my oil pan which i hear can endup with messy results.
As far as niterous, id rather not (i prefer HP that doesnt have to be refilled not really something im looking to debate, jus not interested really)
I wouldnt mind putting a cobras charger on if i can just find a way to get clearance under the shaker, but i REALLY dont want to loose the ram air (its what makes it a mach! <3 ) and would prefer to not make it non functional, but i guess seeing a supercharger poping out the top of the hood would look good if it fit the hoods cut out, never seen it done... if it ended up looking like the corvette LTZ i guess thatd have a fairly cool look to it, not to mention super unique! no IDEA how id get it to work tho

am i really best off just saving up and getting a vortech or a procharger? most of the kits ive seen are between 4 and 5 thousand : /
