Default v6 to v8 swap??

ok im new here so im not sure if this has been posted before i searched it and didnt come up with any good information.

i have a 98 v6 5 speed sitting around thats pretty much dead and i want to make a project out of it. so i was wondering what i would have to go through to swap in a 4.6 v8. finding engine, trans, rear end, wiring and ecu is very easy but what else would i need? has anyone on here done it before? does anymore have a parts list or pictures?

yea ill try to rember every thing allthough it will differ because you want fi and that is more involved

motor
k member if you go with 4.6 you will need one out of 96-98 or a tubular one
motor mounts
correct flywheel dont know what size the 4.6 uses but the v6 uses 164 tooth flywheel and 11 inch clutch so if you want to reuse your clutch depending on how warn it is you will need a 164 tooth flywheel with correct balance weight 4.6 might be internal balance not shure but it is easiest to stick with 164 tooth flywheel so you dont run into starter problems you can keep stock starter
power steering pump
headers
you will need gt gauge cluster sense you will have gt computer
just take your time and use common sense
dont start the project in somebodys garage that is gona make you move after a week
it is gona take some time and some cash it will cost you more as i said i went carbed and had allot of the parts already and be nice to the rear end till you switch it to a 8.8 or 9 inch or it will be sitting dead next to the v6 it is kinda weak

I've seen some 4.6's on ebay that are complete or close to it for cheap. If you can get all the stuff used/good condition, it'll come out cheaper. Not hard to do. i've done several engine/tranny swaps in the carport on jackstands.
+1 about taking your time and doing it all right the first time.

Sounds about right.
Even when i did the 5.4 and Cobra T45 swap in my 97 Saleen, i think i put around $3K into it. I got a great deal on the 5.4 and the tranny. that also includes a tubular k memeber, intake adapter plates and some new parts just to replace the old ones.
Though once i got the stage 2 ported heads, that was about $4200 bucks total.
Keep it simple and buy used and it'll def be cheap.

ok because ive seen threads on other sites saying that the brake booster would need to be changed and i may run into problems because of the power steering pump placement is different
