Default 1997 Mustang gt 18 inch rims

I've decided to install 18 inch saleen rims 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the back i was wondering what size of side wall i can run i knw the recommened is 35 but i was woundering if i could run 40 cuz i would like to run 245 40 18 in the front and 285 40 18 in the back i was wondering if i would have any clearence issuses?? thanks

Ya i'm hoping they look good i was thinking of getting them from American Muscle is there any place better then that??... also can you give me a link or some thing to the size guide i couldn't find it in the 4.6 Tech thanks

I got the 18 inch saleens for my Cobra from american muscle(at the time was mustang tuning) They were nice quality and looked sick on my car. Cant go wrong with Saleens.

does anyone know the biggest side wall i could have on those tires without clearenss issuses

i ordered a set of the exact same wheels. the 245/40/18 will be good for the front, but the 285/40 might be a bit tall in the back. i went with a 295/35/18 in the back of mine, or you could even go with a 275/35. the last two sizes mentioned would keep the Overall Diameter of the tire closer to stock, that the 285/40...

i personall went with the 275/35 in the back and 245/40 in front, although the 295's look sick from behind the car

i want to go wide in the back i was don't want to have bigger side wall on the front tires then the back guess i'm going 35 all the way around if 40 won't fit in the back.
