Default Looking for Hurst

Hey all, I have an 03GT 5spd and I am looking for a Hurst shifter, the one were the handle is the flat chrome piece if steel with the white ball knob. I have found these for the 05-09 and the Fox bodies but I am having a hard time finding one for the TR-3650 tranny . I believe this is the one I have? Any ideas? I looked on a few sites you know the American Muscle I even did a Google search but I keep finding them just for another trans. Thanks as always.

As much as I like the way those shifters look, they don't shift very well at all compared to others on the market, such as the MGW or Steeda Tri-Ax.

If you want the look, I would recommend trying to find a similar handle and ball setup, but getting the Tri-Ax base, that way you get the best of both worlds. No other handle will bolt up to the MGW, which is my favorite shifter for the T3650.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with the above post, STRONGLY! I have had my Hurst Billet-Plus shifter in my Mach 1 since the car was brand new, seven years ago, and while other people ***** and moan about missing shifts, not going into gear, etc., I have had zero problems power shifting the TR-3650 all these years!

The tranny in my car is about the only stock component left in the drivetrain, and I was fully expecting to encounter problems after boosting the car, but it still gets the job done!

To the original poster, I don't think you can get the Hurst handle to fit the stock shifter mechanism, so you would have to replace the shifter with the Hurst Billet-Plus, and then bolt the handle up to that, which is what I had to do. I'll see about getting the part numbers necessary for you and post them in this thread later today.

I've said it many times before, so I guess I'll say it again:

The people happy with their Pro 5.0's and Hurst shifters for the T3650 are the ones that have never driven with the MGW or Tri-Ax. Once you've owned either of those, and get used to them for a couple weeks, you'll never go back to anything else.

I've had 3 shifters on my car, the Pro 5.0, the Steeda and the MGW. I also have a friend with the Hurst in his, and I can't stand it, and whenever he gets the chance to drive my car, he always gets out and says the next thing he's going to buy is the MGW. Of course he never does, but he says it constantly.

The worst aftermarket shifter I've ever had the displeasure of driving with is the UPR Blue Thunder. I would never in a million years put that piece of crap in my car.

Thats exactly the look I was going for it looks awesome, now I will say that I have not had the option to try out many shifters however I did have a steeda tri ax in my first stang, that has been over 5 yrs ago and with my current stang of almost 2yrs the stock shifter is very unforgiving especially when you miss third LOL. I have since gotten use to it. But more importantly I was going for the look. I love that (IMO) old school look of the Hurst. But I do know the Steeda has a very high rating. Thank you both for the postings I will also check out the other you suggested.
