Sorry, but I have to disagree with the above post,
STRONGLY! I have had my Hurst Billet-Plus shifter in my Mach 1 since the car was brand new, seven years ago, and while other people ***** and moan about missing shifts, not going into gear, etc., I have had zero problems power shifting the TR-3650 all these years!
The
tranny in my car is about the only stock component left in the drivetrain, and I was fully expecting to encounter problems after boosting the car, but it still gets the job done!
To the original poster, I don't think you can get the Hurst handle to fit the stock shifter mechanism, so you would have to replace the shifter with the Hurst Billet-Plus, and then bolt the handle up to that, which is what I had to do. I'll see about getting the part numbers necessary for you and post them in this thread later today.
