Talking First official ride in my 98 GT... i LOVED it but i got a funny question...

so, i was drivin down some curvy roads... it was raining out pretty good but i didnt care, i had a female friend over helping me work on it, and i wanted her to enjoy the first official ride with me so anyway, i took her out didnt give her any hell just drove... OH MY GOD it felt like i was drivin on snow in some spots!! is this NORMAL for a lowered car with 3.73s T45 and a bone stock 4.6?? i have 245/45/zr17s in my old 5.0/T45/3.27 gears, i NEVER had this issue... just curious... my rear tires are pretty good on tread and are a pretty good design, but my front tires need some help i also found out i think the front right tire is just completely out of whack... maybe not balanced, low on air or maybe even front end issues, will send it in for alignment and stuff soon... and two fresh front tires... but i got the whole nose reconstructed from the wreck it was in *pics are on my profile of the 'before' pictures* when the rain cuts out i can take my dads $800 digital camera out lol i dont think he would be happy if i took it out in the rain yesterday hahaha but the car was AMAZING and oh my god i love the 3.73s i had good pickup in ALL 5 gears!!! she just wanted to slide sideways anytime it was in first gear... and the corners werent THAT bad they were just a tad scary felt kinda like.... DRIVIN A FOXBODY in a downpour lol

ok so enough of story time, im still completely thrilled!! despite a few now known issues... now for my tech question... im not sure if it was cuz the road was wet, but i had to hit the brakes pretty hard *clutch in, tranny in nuetral* to actually slow down, but never had the issue in the warm dry days... ALSO IF i push the pedal too hard, she stalls out on me?? is the vaccuum on the brake booster killin the motor due to lack of vaccuum for say the IAC or something?? anyone else ever have this issue?? i will take her back out on a dry day...

ALSO, when i tried to reset my air bag system *as mentioned in my air bag 101 post* it HAS worked for me BEFORE, but its not working now.... SO does this mean i gotta drive it for 100 miles to clear any and all codes like u would for inspection?? and then try to reset the computer AGAIN?? just curious... thanks for any help guys...even tho im so happy about gettin to take her for a ride im not even concerned about any of the technical problems

Lowering a car should improve the handling, rain and v8 mustangs is well known to be a "slick" experience...I have a jap car to drive in inclimate weather...Stangs are best on dry sunny days

My car handles fine in the rain...most of the time. As far as the brake problem. I don't know what to tell you. Sorry.

Mine did very well in the rain until I put the 315/35/17 Drag Radials on it. Now it's like ice skating when there's any standing water on the road.

My 95GT did crappy in the rain. My Cobra has 315 DR's and has never seen rain. DR's and rain is an accident waiting to happen, though Nitto would be better than other DR's in the rain.
Make sure tread is good, recommeded tire pressure and take it slow.

ill have 285/40/zr17 nitto 555s on there soon enough... but nobody has any ideas for the brake vaccuum stall thing??and when i have solid vaccuum is that physically holding my IAC OPEN?? just a bit or something?? cuz it seems like she just chokes out and dies...

my car had that issue of not wanting to stick. i had performance tires on it when i bought it. i got some bad ass all weathers not and they grip the road and she is sticky. my car is lowered as well but the lowering isnt going to help the tires if they wanna spin on the wet road. its all that torque!
