Default 1985 Mustang 5.0 for sale...

So yesterday i found an 85 mustang gt 5.0 for $1,700. They claim that it has 75,000 original miles and it runs great. Body is in great condition just one tiny spot of rust. Interior is almost like new. Just one tear in the driver seat. Its in really good condition and they have papers stating that it was rebuilt in 2002. I ts all stock except for the headers and the cat has been hollowed out. Should i buy this or invest the money in my 2002 GT???

That depends...
What are you planning on investing into with your '02?
That sounds like a great deal for the car. I would love to find something like that and make it a track car.

I also have a 02 GT and find myself looking on CL for older 5.0's. Its sick!!!! But really what you have to consider, is if you have the money to dump into the 5.0 if you get it. Not just Mods, but everything that could come down the pike. Im not saying "don't buy it" only be carefull. I am dealing with a car currently that I bought used and was said to be in great shape. Everything is wrong with it and it wasnt till after I bought it, did I realize I got beat. I cant even begin to MOD yet because Im still trying to get in on the road to run the way it should.

Its up to you but I say inspect that sucker from top to bottom if you plan on putting in on the road. Good luck and either way, you still have the your 02' and this forum if you should need back-up

Well its kinda like this for me... I could buy this 85 and build it to be a track car, BUT, it will take me awhile to get the money saved up to do everything. Or i can get a supercharger for my 02 or other mods. So it comes down to modding my 02 or having an 85 5.0 sit around til i get more money to dump into it... im stuck
