Has anybody had a push start button installed on their 99-04 mustang?? I dont know why but something just came over me and i kinda want to get one now. I think it will give it more of the supercar look and feel...

Im sure. But ive looked everywhere and i cant seem to find anyone with my style that has one. I wouldnt know where to put it...
I think it would be kinda cool to have a little switch/button to replace the coin holder thing (by the cup holders). I never keep coins in the slot thing. It would make me feel like I was flying a F-22 or something sweet
Haha me either. Thats a fine idea though. Thanks . I found the place. Now my next question.... Would the push start button for the 05-09 work on an 02 or is there a kit somewhere for the 99-04. Ive looked in a few places but nothing. If anybody sees anything please let me know.

go to napa and get a push button with a rubber cap on it
i put mine it the rear defroster button location
one wire goes the batt and the other ties in to the trigger wire for the
starter, on the 99-04 it has a plug by the batt, just unplug it from the harness.
The Mechanic i use has installed 3 or 4 in 2000 - 2004 GT's . they pop the chip out of a security key and wire tie it to the antenna in the ignition then install the button and everything in the dash, or the coin slot. the problem is you essentially have a permanent key chip in the car so it kinda defeats the purpose of the anti theft system. otherwise its not that expensive and works great

What does the anti theft system do anyways?? On my g6 if i arm it and reach in the window and unlock it and open the door the alarm goes off. But when i do it to the mustang it doesnt do anything. So what does it do?

The later Mustangs uses a passive anti theft system that works between the computer and a rf chip inside the key itself. when you start the car the computer "looks" for a chip with a very short range antenna in the steering column. it sends out a low frequency burst of rf energy which reads the chip in your mustang ignition key. if it doesnt see a chip or the chip sends back the wrong code, the computer refuses to start the car.
basically this prevents someone from cutting a key from your vin number and stealing your car or hotwiring the car. if you lose all your keys you have to tow your car back to a dealer who then has to "teach" your mustang a new key. this takes about an hour and the dealer will basically charge you an arm and a leg. some mustang also have an audible alarm system as well but i believe all 1999 - 2004 mustangs use the PATS key system. i think the new ones do too
