Hey, I'm doing some work on my car soon. It requires removal of the ECM and sending it to Vortech for recalibration of a Vortech ECM. The instructions are vague at best, and tell me to remove the passenger side front kick panel to access the ECM. The passengers in my car better not be kicking any of my panels, so I'm not sure which one is the kick panel. If anyone can be more specific, I'd appreciate it before I start tearing my interior apart. I'm not mechanically inept, but I'd rather save some time by knowing exactly where to start instead of bumble-f*cking around in there.
If no one knows, I guess it won't be too hard to narrow it down.
Thanks for your time,
Sillyrabbit

I have this video (for a Zex Traction Control Window Switch) that pretty much shows where the kick panel is... Disregard what the video says because it is an instructional video for installing a Zex Traction Control Window Switch. The ECM is removed by moving the large wire connectors out of the way and unscrewing the bracket(should be a white bracket with one visible screw, just slide the ECM under the bracket once the screw is removed/ in the video at 5:45). Then unbolt the ECM large wire board (don't know the correct name...but you can see it in the video at 5:55) it will leave you with the ECM and nothing holding it back. Finally, pull it out. Hope this helps!
I noticed on my 2000 GT a while back that the ECM code is on a sticker on the door of my passenger side. Check there first. It should be like 4 letters and numbers together.
The one for my 2000 GT was "GTG3" after going to the trouble of removing the kick plate, etc, I later saw it on the door when I was washing the car...
