Went up to the strip, empty tonight. Track was alittle slick. My best run was a 13.8 @ 102.4mph with a 2.1 60 foot. On Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R's. I heated them up for a good 7 seconds every time in 2nd gear. I had about 12 runs, and 9 of them were 2.1 60 foots.
My biggest problem was, idk if it was because the track was slick or because I need control arms, but every time I hit 2nd, granny shifting I'd spin and get a little loosey.
My dad got a new best at 13.2 @ 104.2 with a 1.9 on NT555Rs in his Mach.
I dropped the air pressure to 26 on the potenzas and hooked pretty good. Is that good for street tires?

It was high 50's but 77% humidity. I know my car can hit like 13.5ish. 2nd gear was killing me. Every time the tires would spin for like 30 feet. I didnt have 1 8 second 1/8 mile time. And my trap speed is usally like a 103-104mph. But there were thunderstorms earlier so pretty high humidity. Im going next Wednesday. I have to get better than a 13.6 before the end of October lol

High 50's and 77% humidity... I wish, it was in the mid 90's here today and humidity around 100%, as always. Really not bad runs for street tires, keep up the good work.

for some reason i remember around 2 flat to be an ideal launch for street tires but i could be wrong.... very good runs, with my car i have that same problem in the 1-2 shift, the local track is very slick. what differential setup are you running?
Oh for sure, 2.0 on street tires pretty good, especially on stock suspension. I know all about the 1-2 shift, and the track near me I cut loose on the 2-3 shift as well, getting very frustrating... hopefully all this new suspension gear will take care of that, but I can't find time to put it in right now, let alone pay for an alignment after.

The best thing I ever bought for the track is a set of Drag Radials.
Doing any burnout on street tires usually makes them hook worse. With street tires, just turn them over for about a second to clean them off, and that's it.

Thats what Ive heard to, not to smoke street tires. But the Potenzas are as sticky as my dads NT555Rs. And thats the only way I was getting 2.1's is if I was smoking them.
Im going up again on Wednesday, my dad can't come so Ill use his NT555Rs. If I can get 2nd gear to hook, and atleast get a 2.0 60foot. I definatley see 13.5ish area. My trap speed is good for low 13's.

I went from a 13.9 to a 13.3 just by swapping to BFG Drag Radials. The Nittos aren't quite as sticky as the BFG's, but a .5 gain with a few practice runs to get used to them is definately attainable. My car dynos 6rwhp less than yours, but 20rwtq more for some reason, but you have 4.10's, mine are still in the box in my office. You should be able to get into the extreme low 13's with that, knocking on the 12 second door. I have faith that once my gears are put in, I'll be able to make it into the 12's with some slight weight reduction.

You're really going to be happy with this one:
60ft was 1.89
MPH was 102.2
Your MPH will likely go down once you get traction, it happens to most of us and is normal. But the time difference will make you smile.
I can't wait to get my 4.10's installed, get some new drag radials, and go out in November, when the density altitude is negative, I should definately be in the 12's, as you should be also very soon. Our numbers are too close together for you not to.
Yea I figured my trap speed would drop, although back on April 29th I got my best run 13.69 @ 104.29. I had like 3 more runs at 104mph, and the rest were all high 103mph.
So it should be nice and cold this upcoming Wednesday, Im hoping to hit 12's I would be so pumped for just an intake exhaust and gears 2V.
I bet you'll hit 12's in November with 4.10s. Did you ever get your car fixed? Did you build the rear? Or still the stock rearend? Also, now that Ill have some Nittos whats a good tire pressure and launch RPM. Im trying to avoid breaking my stock rear...hahaha

I have most of the parts now, just waiting on the time to actually sit and get everything setup. With the new axles, Eaton 31 spline, 4.10's, and reinforced torque boxes, and with M/T Drag Radials instead of the BFG's, I'm hoping it's going to be a monster off the line, even with good handling suspension under it.
