now, im not entirely sure about this either, but i DO believe it was either the 03-04 mach 1 OR cobra, not sure, that came factory with an eaton S/C ma11 or something to that effect on it?? DOHC, sooo if so, if it already had an eaton on it, why would they take off the eaton and put on a vortech??
seems fishy.. but that could be cobra only im not entirely sure the package in which came with a mach 1
i know that its common to take the eaton off and bolt on the whipple twin screw style supercharger/blower *whatever you wanna call it*.... and if u think the price is low, inspect EVERY inch of the frame by the front crash sensors especiallly behind the bumper cover... a small wreck coulda been hidden real well like that... you know, hit a tree or something and reset the inirtia fuel pump switch, then drive off so his insurance didnt go up?? so it would NOT be documented on carfax... but if the frame looks even a little squashed in that part up front, thats very well a possiblility... just somethin to think about

the 03-04 cobras had the eaton SC from the factory and a DOHC 4.6 motor with the forged internals...
03-04 Machs had the DOHC 4.6 with no SC...the 5-speeds had forged cranks and the automatics had cast cranks as well as lower redlines.
this particular car looks to have the Vortech kit that they sell especially for Mach 1's.
If im mistaken, someone please step in and take over the reigns! LOL

no it looks like it is the proper kit for the car. i just cant seem to figure out what that polished pipe is that is coming off of the shaker. it is on the driver's side and it just seems to go downward somewhere. it isnt the intake because you can clearly see the piping for the intake but i was thinking it might just redirect the air from the shaker somewhere... idk just a question to ask.

The picture of the engine shows that it's a 32 valve thus DOHC, it has the right engine.
thats not waht the info says that the people put up. right below the pics it even says SOHC 16-valve SMPI V8 engine. i would DEFFINITLY ASK THEM. i can put anything on my motor to make it say 32 valve, doesn't mean its true. i would be concerned and ask them first thing.

if you cant tell the difference between a 2v and 4v by looking at one. go take the mustang 101 crash course.
saying you can put anything on your motor to make it say 32 vavle is hilarious............. there is a very distinguished difference in the 2

I would personally avoid this car. It's equipped with an Auto trans so the crank isn't the Forged Cobra piece that the 5 speeds come with. For that price I'd look at 03-04 Cobras! It isn't out of the realm to see them for $17K
UPDATE:
I decided to take a pass on this one. There was just too many unanswered questions swimming around in my over-active brain to purchase this car confidently. theres equal chances that this car may have been babied or could have been beaten on....not a chance i'm willing to take with that weaker crank. also not the smartest idea to have a supercharged stang as my DD for winter around Chicago! LOL...i'll find what im looking for eventually...no need to rush it.
Thanks for all the input guys and gals!

People that worry about the cast crankshaft on the automatic Mach 1's are really over-reacting. The weak points in a stock, non-Terminator 4V motor, are the pistons and rods, not the crankshaft! You will mangle a piston, or break a rod, long before that cast crank gives up the ghost.
