this seems too good to be true, too many mods, too low of a price to be a solid purchase maybe? what do you guys think? I'm considering getting rid of my 01 GT for this beast...probably going to look at it today as its in the area...FEEDBACK?

I mean the car is outdated by two models already. But I hear ya. A neighbor of mine has an 04 Mach 1, with exhaust only and wanted 20k... But it also had barely any miles on it.
sorry, forgot to post mileage....it has 52,568 on the clock so the mileage is a little high for a "collector" model i guess but not as far as everyday cars go ya know?
I wanna see it up on a lift and see the frame, the subframe connectors, torque boxes, etc.

ordinarily i'm not a fan of ebay either for buying cars, but the nice thing is West Chicago (where its located) is only about 15 miles from where i work...so its easy for me to go look it over.
Im not a huge fan of those rims either, but they grow on me everytime i look at them. maybe sell em and get some deep dish black bullitts or the deep dish carroll shelby knock-off Mach 1's on american muscle, those are sick!

Very cool car. It has those special Mach1 ribbed seats, too. I notice that it has an automatic trans and wonder if that is a factor in the fairly low price. But remember, the 5-speed Mach1s had forged cranks, while all automatic Mach1s had cast cranks and a much lower redline (5500 rpms, if I remember correctly). Adding the blower put a lot of stress on that cast crank, and the car does have over 50,000 miles on it. Those miles may have been very hard on that engine.

i believe the redline is 5800 rpm in the autos, and yes it did occur to me on the way home last nite that the autos had the cast crank and my next question is how much hp can those stock cast cranks handle? if the blower isnt pushing a lot of psi, and its not raced all the time, will they hold up? i know lots of guys just throw blowers on stock 2V motors with the cast cranks as long as they arent pushing 500 hp and hitting the track every weekend ya know? ANY THOUGHTS?

Price actually sounds about right. It does have over 50k and is 5 years old now, but cool car. It looks clean but be careful when looking at a modded mustang like this one, you know someone had fun in that one. If it was stock then ok, but people mod cars for a reason..to haul.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal, you should go have a look... Understand that that car has been neaten on whatever they say, nobody does that much work to a mach1 and doesn't use the power, but it still may be a very good car, ideally take it to an independent shop nearby and have it looked over, especially the compression/leakdown, unless they're trying to hide something the dealer should welcome a serious and informed buyer, but if everything checks out good I'd go for it.
