Ok so due to the fact that I currently don't have the time or location to do it I asked a local shop for a quote to install a Vortech V-3 Si trim s/c kit with the NGK TR6 sparkplugs, sct x3 tuner, A/F gauge, Boost gauge, air temp gauge, and tuning. They quoted me a little over $7800......does that sound about right to everyone...sounds a little high to me but that's just my opinion. Any advice is apprecated and if I'm being wrong and stupid please feel free to tell me because that's why I'm asking. As always thanks for everything.
I think he means with the blower...that is not too bad a price...you also need to upgrade the fuel system with a bigger mass air, injectors and fuel pump too (another $1000)...that V3 system will probably be too much for your engine as it is not forged...you might consider selling your car, adding the blower funds and just buying a Terminator or other car already modded and being way better off.

I just bought a D1 procharger at the nmra with the 42pound injectors 90mm massair and all the pulleys to make my car a 8 rib. It came with a anderson power pipe and a $600 procharger blowoff valve for $2700. Where you located at??? I can get it done alot less than that!
$600 Procharger blow off valve? The big red race valve is their most expensive one and you can find it online for 350. And does your d1 kit come intercooled or not? Almost sounds like that deal is too good to be true.
Your engine will handle the power fine. Just stay under 450ish rwhp and you should be fine.
7800 does seem a little steep though. If I were you I would just wait until you can get some time off and then tackle the install yourself. It actually is pretty fun if you find a bud or two to work with.
and lastly if you want you could run your stock maf. People usually do upgrade it when drastically improving their induction system but it isn't necessary. But it is a must to upgrade your injectors, fuel pump, and to get a tune.

Next summer looking to go with:
Bilstien shocks + struts, Lowering springs (brand still TBD (any suggestions?)), MM CC plates, front + rear sway bars, subframes, and upper and lower control arms.
Time to make the pony ride some rails
Thanks for all the responses guys always great to hear back from everyone. I didn't mention anything about the fuel system because the kit comes with new 42# injectors proper, fuel pump, and all of the required fuel system upgrades...so all of that is covered. I'll be replacing my MAF myself so that's covered...and I understand that this S/C has the ability to make alot of power and that's the reason I chose it. I like the V-3 Si kit because I can leave the larger pulley on it push 9-10 psi through my stock non-built motor with a conservative tune and be fine. Now when next fall/winter rolls around and I build a motor and put it in I can change pulley's push more boost through the motor and be good with out having to change the S/C that's in it. Ok so a little off topic I just read the article in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords about the new TFS 2V heads and they are pretty impressive...opens alot of doors for us 2V guys...coul get really fun haha. The article showed RWHP gains of 60-65 hp over stock heads, and a gain of 30-35 hp over CNC ported and polished heads so I'm sold...looks like I need to get in line to get my pair.

You didn't mention an air to air Intercooler install for that price? Plus the V3 is self oiling so the process of tapping the oil pan is avoided.
Yes the V-3 is self oiling so it does take that part of the process out. Also it's for a HO system so it has the air to water after cooler from Vortech with it. But looking over everything on the quote they sent me 5400 dollars of the quote is for parts and then there's 1780 charged for labor. On the quote the labor is what gets me...14 hours for the system install (including the S/C and plumbing as well as the spark plugs, injectors, and fuel pump) and 4.5 hours labor to install a boost gauge, wideband A/F gauge, and airtemp gauge. So I think that I'm just going to wait save my money do some other little mods here and there and do the install this summer when I go home. So in the mean time if anyone knows someone or sells one of these systems themselves let me know.
It came with a 3 core intercooler and yeah the blow off valve is the big red one.. I got it at the NMRA in Bowling Green. Just check out my pics on my profile an leave me a comment on what you think!! Thanks
