I used a long extension and a swival socket. I have removed mine 1x when I went to the UPR Dual catted x pipe and have removed it 3-4 times since to do transmission and clutch work. Also spray with penetrating oil and let it soak in prior to trying to loosen. I use a 24" long extension, but you can connect several 6" extensions together to do the same thing.

mid-length sockets help a ton. A deepwell is sometimes too long, and won't fit in the space, and a standard socket won't fit over the stud. Midlength sockets will save your life sometimes.

PB BLASTER AND AN IMPACT WRENCH W/ AIR COMPRESSOR....and a hell of an assortment of sockets/knuckles/extensions...spray it a couple hours prior with the blaster and let it soak in and really "cut" the rust, then use the impact with extensions and such...just dont force it, fine line between keeping at it to break the nuts loose and forcing it and breaking a manifold stud (BIG P.I.T.A. to fix from what i hear). I removed the stock and installed the UPR O/R X in about 3 hrs start to finish....its well worth the work....smells bad the first start up tho from all the oil coating to keep it from rusting before install. GOOD LUCK MAN
