so i was sitting at a stop light the light had just turned green not 2 sec earlier i put it in first gear and suddenly i hear screching tires look in the rear view mirrior and soon as i do im slammed from behind...it was some old piece of junk van thats 20 years old to.. im dreading to see what im gonna get from his insurance company. has this happened to anyone with a lot of mods? blue book for my car is 11,600 that part is nice but ive put over 17,000 in parts into my car. i have all the reciepts and am gonna bring them when the insurance guy comes to take a look at the car but i dont know if thats gonna help at all. im ok my neck hurts a little today now and ive had a headache since the accident so i might go to the doctor i havent decided yet. the car is almost surley totalled now it even pushed the rear axel forward some. anyone dealt with this kind of thing before does anyone know if ill get the value of my parts to? im seriously considering getting a lawer if they try and be difficult about not getting me for all the stuff i have done to the car after all he hit me i didnt hit him...

Bummer dude! I just heard about a 97? mustang that was totaled and he had something like 19K in receipts, and i think they paid him 17K total. Not bad for a 97 with a couple thousand dollar blue book.
OMFG......that sucks...when i looked at it i got goose bumps...i would cry if that happened to my car....sorry dude...hope you are able to make everything work out the way u want

As long as you have all your receipts they should cover all the mods. I know a guy that had a custom jetta and he got 4,000 more than the blue book value. He had more money in the car than that,but its better than nothing

its gonna be tricky to get back what you had into unless you notified your insurance about all the mods, i would get a lawyer and go to the hospital, get checked out, possibly see a chiropractor if your back is sore, i got t-boned in my neon, and ive had to see a chiropractor for like the past year because it messed up my back pretty good.

yea honestly right now i want blue book and all the mods ive paid for not like im putting in how much it would actually cost to install all those mods... consider it pain and suffering. the pain ive went though seeing my car like that and the suffering knowing ive spent 2 deployments on all those mods and now its destroyed...
dont know if i want to buy it back though i want a 03 cobra now

Tell the insurance company that you want an 03-04 Cobra for an even trade. They will have to buy you a modified Cobra, because I haven't ever seen a stock one.

Sorry to see those pics. I am no expert but I am not sure if the insurance company will pay you for the mods. I have always heard that they pay you for what the car is worth. They do not care what you put on it. I hope that this turns out well for you.

well i found almost all my reciepts and it adds up to 10,073.31 the parts i dont have reciepts on would be an extra 1804. plus this didnt include all the custom filling and painting for the trunk when i put the different wing on :/ think i will miss that the most i loved that wing and the side scoops. with the blue book being 11,600. if i can get all that i would get 23477.31 more than enough to get a sweet 03 cobra. oh did i mention my buddy has a firend that has a sonic blue (my fav mustang color same as my car ) for 15k for sale with only 18,000 miles on it... :x hehe. to bad i didnt have 32k cause he has another buddy with a shelby gt 08 for sale.

When my last stang got totaled. It got rear ended also. They let me go and take all the after market parts off I could if I had the stock replacements for them. After tat I sold them all off and recouped some of my money.
