My goals for 2010 My goals for the Bullitt for 2010 are fairly easy. I want to run a 12 second time with the stock longblock, full interior, and no power adder.
But wait, it gets better:
I also want to be competitive at an autocross event with nothing more than a change of tires, and a few tweaks after a 1/4 mile run. Let's say 20 minutes or less of work.
Where do we stand right now:
13.3 in the 1/4 mile with nothing more than a CAI, Tune, and an offroad X pipe. I also have weld in Flowmasters, but they don't really add any power. For suspension so far, I have Konis and Vogtland springs, along with HPM Megabite SR control arms, subframe connectors, and torque box reinforcements. 1/4 mile runs done with Drag Radials
How do I plan to get there:
I have a set of American Racing Headers with catted X already, waiting to be installed. I also have 4.10 gears being installed any day now, as soon as the guy has a break in work. I have also ordered a set of HiTech Stage 2 cams, and they will be installed within the next couple months as well. I'm changing out my BFG Drag Radials for the M/T's before I go back to the 1/4 mile.
I think that will get me my 12 second time slip with ease, since I'm only .3 off of that now. The gears will more than likely get me there by themselves.
Now, what to do about the autocross? I already have Konis and Vogtland springs, and I really don't want to swap to a stiffer spring than the Vogtlands, they are pretty stiff in the rear as it stands now. I can stiffen up the Konis enough to control most of the spring. I have a Maximum Motorsports panhard bar that will be installed next weekend, if everything goes right. This should help me a lot in the handling department. But I'm thinking that the Bullitt stock swaybars may be a limitation, so I've been thinking about possibly adding a MM adjustable rear swaybar, and the big Addco bar up front to help with body roll. I could unhook the Addco at the 1/4 mile in minutes, to help with weight transfer as well.
So what are the thoughts? Possible? I think so, don't see why not. Comments are welcome, as well as suggestions. |
