Yup, you'll have holes.
I filled mine in with Loctite Marine Epoxy. That **** is bullet proof. You mix it and it dries within an hour. I've used it for:
Fixing a cracked plastic coolant tank on a race quad, Sealing headlights Sealing foglights Fixing a broken coolant hose plug thing on the coolant tank on my 'Stang
It's sandable, and less sh*tty than Bondo, dries hard as hell, and I've yet to have it come undone. I was most impressed with the way it sealed a cracked coolant tank on my YFZ450, cause I've wrecked the hell out of my race quad. Still sealed...
It's gray in color... but if you do some crafty paint/body work, it'll look better than plugs. Actually, if you do sh*t body work it'll look better than plugs, still.
Just an opinion, or an option for ya...
