you should really look into that. how did they start your car without a key. you key is programed to the computer and the only way to make a new one is to reprogram the key with a special tool that takes like 15 - 20 minutes to run and reprgram not to mention the cut of the key would have to work with the ignition.
maybe someone stole an extra key from you. might be someone you know that did this or a previous owner.

I thought about this over night..... If there was some kind of key involved (we think) how come they did not use it to unlock the door. Most cars now a days use the same key.
Good point...Maybe they did use the key and made it seem like they jimmied the door to not blow there ways of pulling hiests.???
Bro...get back to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Let us know what you think they did.
i bought a .30-06 remington bolt action w/ a scope just for this type of situation. is your steering column okay? how'd they take it? no broken window?
I have some experience with vehicles and the effects of bullets upon them and the occupants.
You will get overpenetration with a .30-06. A 9mm will go through a car door, into the console, sometimes penetrating the console. Most .45 ACP will do the same, and lodge in the next door, penetrating the door depending upon where it hits. A .30-06 will smoke right through it, so make sure you hit the badguy to slow the round. Even still, 7.62 x 39 will go through the glass, a human body, and out the back of the seat. The bottom line is that it'll really trash your interior.
Try a compound bow.

Had my new 94 GT stolen in late 94, never saw it again...glad you got yours back...yeah, I'd invest in Lojack (or at least the steering wheel bar/lock) or some kinda tracking if you live in a high theft area...of course a few rounds of 9mm ammo from my Glock might put a quick end to the escapade!

you know you can make a key from the vin, we have to do it all the time at my work if the keys get locked in or somthing and i work at a dealership, it could of been as easy as they write down your vin and go to a ford dealership and say they locked there keys in the car and need a copy made with your vin. its good you got it back, im glad i live in a small town.
when i worked for a Dobb's owned collision center we had a master key brought in from ford for a car. it wouldn't unlock the door b/c the teeth were cut just enough to trip the ignition and they have a base code that lets them register the key to the pcm. And while i agree shooting them is satisfying why not just instal a fuel shut off switch. park the car flip the switch and pull the fuel key. do that and the cars going no where some of the ford vans had it standard took me forever to figure out why the van wouldn't start till i found the reset switch.
AHA, maybe it was a repo guy, he took the car and said "Hell Yeah!" this thing is fun and he ended up blowing the wheels off. then, he had to make the choice, which was obvious, and ditch the car. I kind of like that compound bow idea but it is hard to run, aim, pull back and hope there not too far away. Sling shot or rocket launcher, i'm going with the launcher, total loss, new car on the way

i was friends with this kid who i didnt find out till later was the biggest honda theif in the denver metro area. litterally couls strip a car in 2 hours and cut the shell to scrap. no trace of a car in 3-4 hours. the steering wheel lock or the "club" doesnt work and its very easy to get off. hammer or a saw. takes an extra 10 sec. the cool thing about denver... the only cars stolen are hondas because its so easy to get them and with the ricer craze easy to flip parts. mustangs dont get touched although i had a scare the other day when i awoke to see the hood on my freshly supercharged mustang popped. i was freaking out as i ran over to check everything. the way i got it out of the kid that he was a theif... he knew where lojac hides the tracker. if they really want your car they know the spots. thats why the lojac rate of return has gone way down since its creation. check inside the door. they get lazy and thats where it is most of the time. i turned this kid into the cops but no known address so they cant do anything till we can figure out where hes crashing... **** the glock anyone touchs my car they will suffer with my guns. one on each arm! lol kidding

these keys are also all over the place and not that difficult to get unfortunatly. i also told the cops about him having this key on a honda ( read above post). lol my explorer has one of those chips too. fell out from under the dash one day. took me an hour to figure out why my car wouldnt start. i was not happy that day. kill switch. install it. hide it. flip the switch. if the car cant be taken quick they wont mess with it once they inside. theifs look to get in and get out.
