Default to NOS or not to NOS?

i have a 96 cobra bored .30 over with forged flat tops making my cars comp ratio around 10.25:1 along with twin 65mm tb, c&l cai, frpp shorty headers, o/r x pipe, tuned ecu, and other odds and ends... would it be safe, or better yet SMART to put a 100 shot NOS dry shot into my car?

If you run nitrous with all the safety equipment, such as a bottle heater, purge and window switch, you'd be fine.

Nitrous and high compression love each other.

+1 on high compression and nitrous. and if you have forged internals you even have the potential to run more than a 100 shot if you want. just make sure your fuel system can keep up. a svt focus fuel pump or kenne bell boost a pump wouldn;t be a bad investment.

theres always safe ways to put nitrous on, but never a way to save pistons and other interanls from the pure destructive power of nos lol.

the svt focus pump is a direct replacement. walbros are designed for a return style system and will not work (for long) in a 99-04 gt. the 99-04 fuel system is returnless. the svt focus pumps are pretty cheap too (i had mine for $150 shipped) and are very reliable. and it wont be too much fuel, the fuel injectors determine how much fuel enters the engine, the high flowing pump will just ensure that there is more than adequate pressure behind the fuel injectors.

and american muscle is a very, very reliable website to order from.

WAIT scratch that. i just re-read your original post and you stated that you have a 96 cobra so the walbro will work fine!!!!!!!!!! (you have a return style system).

i always forget that this forum includes the earlier 4.6s too, not just the 99-04s.

I'd go with the ZEX dry Kit with a 100 Max, you might need to step up to 30lb injectors though!

Well it sounds like you have a great engine for supercharging as well, if you've rebuilt the lower with forged pistons I'd scour ebay for a deal on a blower, you could easily get 500 hp out of that engine now, it would be like having NOS all the time.
