Hi guys,
As you may have noticed from the title, I'm new to this forum and to mustangs. It's been more than one month so far that I've bought a used mustangs and it's been awesome. The car I own is a 2002 mustang gt 4.6 manual california special edition and I'm really happy with it.
Anyway, here's a thing. I want to mod my car but I don't know where to start and don't want to spend a lot of money....yet
So, what mods or upgrades should I do? Today, I was at the ford dealership for just an inspection when this salesmen approached me and started giving me about mustangs. He said that this computer will program and give a hell of a boost to my car. Here's the link Hypertech Max Energy, Hypertech Max Energy Power Programmer
Is that a good improvement?
hi welcome to the forums: first off you should look around at any of our sponsors sites because you can contact any of the official sponsors and get a discount code like at American Muscle you can get a discount just PM "AMNick" for the code and as for that programmer i cant tell you if its the best but at American Muscle you can get one for cheaper i hope i helped a little and once again welcome to the family
also didn't know about a california special new edge mustang. do you happen to have any pictures that you could upload?

kn cold air intake is a big improvement, 4.10 gear if you dont go on the interstate alot 80mph will be taching 3grand! but 0-100 is sweet then get a dry nitrous kit 100hp by zex, then x-pipe, flowmasters 40 series, you may want to get a tuner? they are expensive but they help. 369 bucks or less.
K&N filter. No need for a new CAI.
4.10 or 3.73 gears.
SCT Tuner or Diablo Tuner - Depends on what tuner your local shop uses.. Or not.
Haven't seen that type of tuner before, but I would get one that's been tested and is used by many places other than a random one a guy at the dealership suggested.
That's not a California Special, it looks like a GT with a Roush package or knockoff added, I hope someone didnt sell you the car with some kinda markup as to that fact...try the search, this is a very common question...budget is usually the big factor. Personally I'd lower the car first, the stance is rediculously high...
