Default Stock GT Exhaust

So I decided to put a stock exhaust I got for $75 (like new) on my GT to pass inspection. Thing is I like the sound they make, why is stock so hated; is it sound, performance or both?

People just want Mustangs to be louder, there's really no performance increase to swapping out from stock.

OK...I'm happy to know others think stock sounds good. These exhaust are heavy gage stainless steel and last for many years (9 yr old exhaust had outer case crack, but no leak). I passed on an opportunity to get a SLP system with magnaflows for $250 used. That may have been a bad decision as I learned the cost new for this system is around $600.

yea some people want a little more noise from those pipes and a little better exhaust flow is always a nice thing too.

The stock sound is good. I have a friend with a C5 vette with borla cat back and my 4V with stock GT exhaust is just as loud as his.

Stock sounds good, but mostly when your on it. It's too quiet for my liking. But you got to pass inspection. Gotta do what you gotta do.

I have an offroad h pipe on my car with the stock Bullitt catback and some 4" SSS exhaust tips. I really like the sound. It could be a little louder, but I am not sure I would want it too much louder. It is still pretty quiet at low rpm's and sounds real good when you get on it. It also has a nice rumble to it. I just have a feeling that if I changed catbacks I would feel it would be too loud.
