yeah and trevor has full bolt ons, hitech stage 2 cams and a fully built rear launching it at 5800 and has excellent driving skills.
you wont get there without cams or another power adder. I have been down this road several times with my 01 and know what it takes.
it takes roughly 300 + rwhp to get a car with our weight in the high 12's
I will disagree with that statement. I ran 13.3's with just exhaust, drag radials, lower control arms and a tune. Now that I have 4.10's, with a little weight reduction, and some slicks and skinnies, I could be in the 12's easily. With 265rwhp SAE corrected. With the right mods and driver, you can be in the low 12's with 300rwhp.

ok I will be waiting on your 12 second slip. yeah you can probably hit it here and there when everything goes perfect with your setup. with the car gutted.
I was thinking more along the lines of a daily driver with everything in tact. no weight reduction.......
I here guys talking about running 12's etc all the time. then you go to the track and it never happens.

Well those are the only engine mods I know of. Everything was done to the car when I got it except the tune. I dyno'd the old motor and had 258/292. My dad threw a rod in that motor. I pick up an 03 motor and drop it in the car. It runs bad for a few weeks. Take it to the dyno and he tunes it. Making 268/310 with just full exhaust and a tune. Maybe it has some driveline upgrades to help the power reach the ground?
here in North America we typically, historically, and traditionally do a 0-60 deal .not 0-80

It's not my fault most people can't drive, or don't go to the track enough to really know their cars. I started drag racing on a weekly basis in 1988, and except for some time when I was deployed, I have pretty much stuck with going to the track at least once a month. And I don't go and make one or two runs a night, I hotlap quite a bit, and work on things every time. It's like a challenge, I go up to the line to improve something with my driving every time I hit the staging lanes, or to try a different launch technique or slightly alter my shift points. I see way too many people just dump the clutch and go, shift at 6200rpms on a stock setup, and run 14.2's with a stock Mustang. My car ran a 13.8@101 the first time at the track on stock 245's with the spare tire in it, and my golf clubs in the trunk. Most of the time reduction on my car was with shift point changes, and learning how the car wanted to be launched, not how I wanted to launch it.
I now launch at 5000rpms and slip the hell out of the clutch to avoid tirespin, and shift at 5700 1st to 2nd, 5500 2nd to 3rd, and 5500 3rd to 4th. Well, that was before the 4.10's. I'm sure I'll have to adjust a bit now at the track, but after one night, and about 10 runs in the same night, I'll have it down, pretty much.
It's not like I've run 13.3's once or twice, all my runs except one the last time at the track were between 13.34 and 13.45. That was at full weight, except for the spare tire........
Oh yeah, and this is my daily driver, the only thing I do for the track is change the back wheels to the same 10.5 Bullitts, but with BFG Drag Radials. It even has lowering springs and Tokico shocks and struts on it, no drag suspension here.

Driveline upgrades won't show up on the dyno. The main thing is that your numbers are STD, so they're not even comparable to most people's, who post SAE numbers. Many dyno operators will give you STD numbers to make you feel good. Doesn't really matter, as long as you go to the same dyno everytime, and get the same numbers everytime. The dyno is nothing more than a tuning and validation tool, it doesn't necessarily translate to being a faster car because it dynos more. Different dynos will always read different, even if they're the same brand. It's a tuning tool, nothing more. You can't race a dyno........lol
trevors GT's interior is also completely stripped. Sorry man were NOT at all trying to give you a hard time just letting you know.
And your right a dyno can give very accurate WHP but the numbers and permitters can be skewed to make better numbers to make who ever is tuning it look top notch.

312=11.8...yeah right. Well guys I believe I am getting 3.73's and cams before January. I will let you all know how the numbers go and how she does at the track.
Please don't doubt statements I make, I know what his car runs, AND FYI the valve covers have never been off his car!!
well don't undermine the guys here and post a bunch of nonsense.
your not running 11.8's with 312 hp in a full street trim mustang. the only way would be serious weight reduction, slicks and one hell of a suspension.
I have been drag racing for over 25 years and have a little knowledge of my own.

I ran 12.90s at 105-106 in my 2008 GT 5 speed on 255/45R18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. It made 305whp/320wtq SAE on a Dynojet with 4.10 gears. It weighed 3380 pounds without me in it. All I had removed was the spare tire and jack and ran it with just under an 1/8th of a tank of gas. It was good strip conditions too. I'm a good driver who goes to the strip often but I do not powershift and I launch around 2,000 rpm. Find out how much your car weighs and you should probably be able to see how much it will take to get twelves. And for the guy who says his buddy runs elevens with 312, you're friends car would need to weigh in at 2600 lbs or less and still have good traction, track conditions, weather, etc. I'm not saying it didn't do it, but I would like to see it. If it does, I'm buying a N/A Cobra.

First off it ISN'T what I run, NEVER said it was my car, it's a friend from SVT performance who lives in Canada! And saying I'm undermining guys here posting a Bunch of nonsense huh??
I've been drag racing for 22 years as well and I'm not liking your Tone bro!!
