ok so ive come to the conclusion that the paint on my car is probably the most brittle paint i have ever seen on a vehicle ever. Ive got the 97 GT in the purple color and ever since i have owned it it doesnt take much for the paint to get scratched, in a matter of fact i was hanging with my friend today and he accidentally hit the rear passenger side quarter panel with the zipper on his coat and guess what it took a nice little chunk out of the paint. So the reason that i am posting this is that i am wondering if anyone else has experienced problems with the paint on their mustang or if i am just one of the unlucky ones with a unlucky paint job. any response will be helpful thank you

i have a 2000 mustang, and it has several chips and scratches, they were on the car when bought it tho, i had to get the front bumper repainted because it was chipped so badly

wow every mustang my dad's had in the past 20 years has held up amazingly well. All his foxes, his 95 GT.... all looked or still look top notch. my 2000 is amazingly good for 10 year old paint. There is light swirls and chips from be a driven car but nothing like what your discribing.

well then i guess that it just sounds like im unlucky, oh well someday ill have the money to restore the paint to its original sparkle

think ya must have gotten a bad one m8, ive got a 98 and a previous owner hit a gas station conrete arch thing, my dad (22+) year body man buffed it and wet sanded it, almost looks new except for scuffs that just wont come out.
