Am looking into doing headers and was wondering what everyone else had and how they performed.... Am stuck between either the MAC long tubes or the Pypes???? SLP is way outta my price range and Kooks is also.... am matching it up to an off road x pipe with my flowmasters, which will soon be replaced.... I know it will be a pita, and would like to know what you guys had to do to get it to work for you all.... The car is my daily driver so i will do this over the weekend, i got a lift, and power tools thank goodness.... Just any tricks that anyone would like to share? Thanks a ton
one thing get some alan head'd bolts and get rid of the hex if u need the sizes i can give um to u, u can go down to the fasanal and get a bag of 50 for like 5 bucks or even bedder u can get the locking type but if ur not droping ur k get the alan head'd bolts make life 10000 times easyer. just remeber when u hit ur car u leave dents that cost a whole lot to fix i gave my car 2 brand new dimples and then myself a black eye cause i didnt want to hurt my car anymore.. just walk away and buy a punching bag if u dont already have one ur gonaa lose ur mind on this
wow, well i am also considering going with a different midpipe instead of getting into header work.... i did a ton of research over gains, and for a daily driven and once a month track car that i'm having fun with idk if the pain and $$$ of long tubes would be worth it on a n/a car.... i would love the deeper tone of the long tubes but if it's really not worth the money then i can put the money towards gears and some moser's also...
I went with the MAC ceramic coated headers on my Bullitt, great headers for the price. And here's pretty much all the tricks and instructions for the install, i used it on mine and provided loads of help and saves you money on the install.

I have BBK LT's and they provide good power and healthy torque. Maybe even more than some other brands but they tick and leak all the time. Go with MAC. They almost never leak.
wow, that is one helluva process.... i would much rather do gears any day, lol. i don't think all that work will do me much good considering i plan on doing bolt ons, and no FI....i might spray a little bit but that's it..... And if i do FI it will be after i get out of college and such and i could put the money towards other mods.... wow, thank you everyone for not letting me get myself into that mess! i will probably do it later on, but for a dd, and gains minimal at the track i might stick with the shortys that's there and slap on a new midpipe
I have the BBK LT up to the o/r xpipe and love it! the labor around here was only 200 bucks. but like they say it gives good bit of horse's and a good bit of torque. worth the money

I don't know man it looks worse than it actually is, I could of had it done all in one day but it got late and didn't want to piss the neighbors off with too much noise. I'm 21 still in college and didn't even have a lift (four jackstands baby!!) to do all this with and basic mechanical skills. With a buddy to fetch you some tools and a beer or two i'm sure you can knock it all out in a weekend at least, just gotta remember where everything goes which if you're organized it's simple. Once you get that K member out of the way it's cake to get those headers out then you can go ahead and just by one mid pipe for that cars life time instead of trying to sell one off later for stock headers which you won't hardly get any cash back for anyways. Even with a stock GT (Bullitt in my case), woke up some pretty decent horsepower so don't be afraid of the install.

I have chrome BBKs with matching hi flow cats on my Cobra, they are awesome, the install was expensive (shop disconnected and replaced motor mounts while they were in there), but worth every penny. Wish I had done it sooner.
