Default Motorcraft synthetic oil, any good??

i recently traded my v6 for a gt and the priveious owner used motorcraft syntetic oil on it.im question is because on the v6 i always ran royal purple and loved it,and i wanna use it on the GT,i know motorcroft is meant for ford, but is it good?? will u get any more HP like royal purple??they are both syntetic. will it give your engine more life time?

im planning on running royal purple later on again but for now i think im going to run motorcraft.

thanks for ur help

Yep, got my Mobil 1 for 22 bucks. If my engine fails it aint because of the oil. Same with Royal Purple just I'd be paying more for a name that is chic but not as well known as Mobil 1. Look up Militech 1 and add to whatever brand you choose.

Heard mixed things about motorcraft oil, but I will only use Royal Purple or mobil 1.

lemme tell you about some motorcraft oil.

1st. my dads truck is a 2002 f150 lariat w/ the 5.4l v8. it has seen nothing but motorcraft 5w20 synthetic oil since day 1 and now has 350,000 miles on it and still ticking strong. no typos.

2nd. the previous owner of my 04gt claimed to use sythetic oil religiously. when i got the car it got about high 17-low 18mpg on average. i then switched to motocraft 5w20 sythetic oil and now get 1 full mpg better driving the exact same way.

so my opinion is don't hesitate to buy motocraft. yeah all the others are good but ford wouldn't recommend it for nothing

In addition to that, Motorcraft oil filters have always been rated very high as well. They are made by Purolator but the specs that Ford puts on them makes them better than Purolator's own filters.
