Question 2000 mustang gt, what is the best way to increase hp?

Hi, i have a 2000 mustang GT and i was looking for a good way to increase hp to about the same as the 2010 4.6. I was thinking about putting on a flowmaster exhaust and a cold air intake. would these produce the results that i want?

Not at all. Not even close. An intake and flowmasters won't give you but maybe 5hp at the most which isn't really much. Try typing your question in the search box because this question has been asked a million times.

Horsepower is not cheap at all what you just listed will probably give you 5 horsepower at the wheels. If you want to feel a good difference get yourself a set of gears 4.10's would do the trick and you would get much more bang for your buck. Or a supercharger will do the trick but just remember horsepower is not cheap!

Off-road x-pipe, magnaflow cat back, 70mm throttle body, CAI, pulleys, and tuned chip on dyno. Resulted in 258 rwhp. ( / .85) = about 303 hp at the flywheel, pretty close to the 2010 GT, and your car has a 335lb weight advantage. I had 3.73's and drag radials and could manage consistent low 13 1/4 mile times.

OR, Above exhaust, CAI and throttle body + Kenne Bell blower @ 8psi = 440 hp at the flywheel. Smokes stock 03/04 cobras.

i'm not sure exactly what 2010 gt's have hp wise? i had o/r h, flows, cai, underdrive pulleys, tb and plenum, and i beat a stock 2008 gt. if 2010 gt is about the same power, then you possibly could with those mods.

i believe they have 315hp stock.

to the op...those mods ill give you 5hp if you are lucky. i would upgrade the gears to 3:73 or 4:10, redo the exhaust (headers, midpipe, catback) and save for a h/c/i. that will get you as fast or faster than the 2010s. add a supercharger or turbo to that and you will be running with the 2011 5.0s

One of the easiest ways to run with the 2010 GT's or past them, is nitrous, just make sure it's tuned properly and your car is in condition to handle it. Horsepower is not cheap but there is "bang for the buck" options Gears would be a great addition They don't add hp but act as a torque multiplier.

Before getting that kind of power under your foot I would highly recommend reading up enough on the cars to know the answer to this question.
