With the new '05 model coming out it's hard to not want out and buy that instead of the older faster models but i think i have to consider the idea. I've been searching online now for about a week and have come up with alternative cars in my price range...'00 Cobra R (used), '03 Cobra (new), Saleen s-281 supercharged(used) , and a '03 roush stage 3 (used). I want a convertible and most important power. It's hard to decide on which to buy on just pictures and specs, has anyone test drove any of these, or have any strong opinions on which would be best of the four. Any other alternatives? Thanks.
You could make the '03 do that. I don't know if the wider wheels and tires helped, or if it was the weight distribution.
I have tried to find out the weight of the current Cobra engines. N/A, Y2K, and SC. But have had no luck. I'm thinking the '03 and Y2K have fairly close engine weights.
Is it for daily/casual driving. Or are you going to take to the track. If it's the Vert. You will need a roll bar. The coupe will be satisfactory without it until you get into the 12's.
Most road courses require verts to have a bar, and the top up.
dont get a 00cobra r just to mod it and to rack up the miles on it.. there are hardly any mods out for that anywayz..i would get a saleen s-281 supercharged.. nice cars
I don't want the car for a daily driver i have a wrangler and a camry otherwise. I just want a car to take out in the summer for a few months to show off and have fun. I'm not looking to mod up the car at all but if i have to get a roll bar, i'd do that if i took it to the track.
if no mods i would go with the saleen then.. i was gonna say 03 cobra because they are very easily modded and the DOHC is nice.. but the saleens are nice, they look great on the outside..saleen effects and nice drop and such, and perofmrnace wise they are awesome.
I've been to the dealership and looked at the specs on the stage 3 Roush's, They have about the same power output as the 03 cobra. I don't know much about saleens, otherwise I would chime in on em. I like all of those cars. So it's all up to you.
