Default Crate motor for 2003 Mustang gt

Hey guys I was wondering how hard this motor swap would be. My grandfater has a cobra kit car and it has a 351 Windsor bored out to a 383 and he thinks it's too powerful for the street for his car. That's not hard to see considering how light those things are. So he called and proposed an engine swap with me. It was new last year and probably has 25 miles on it. What would need to change or would it even fit?

custom fabbing motor mounts most likely. lots of electrical whatnot and a transmission that will mount up to that motor. figure if you're taking the motor you can just take the tranny too. it will physically fit, you just are going to have to make it work.

In a word, hard.

You'd have to replace your transmission, exhaust system (at least the pipes coming off the headers/manifolds), a lot of wiring, possibly the crossmember, the list would take awhile.

Not to mention, a Windsor-based engine wouldn't be legal in the car.

For legal engine swap, the engine needs to be available as a motor for that year car. also you cant put a motor older than the vehicle in the car. At least thats my state law.
