Water Pump Upgrade for 1998 Mustang GT

My 1998 Mustang is getting an engine swap with a 1998 GT motor. Now i'm told that the water pump is worn and cracked possibly so i've decided to upgrade it first sense the plan has always called to tweak this engine while it's on the engine lift.

I'm looking for any info on high performance water pumps. Websites, Reviews, Prices, Opions. anything will help.

ALSO i was wondering what the benifit if any would there be for an electric water pump vs a belt driven water pump...just curious

Thank you,
Troy - Mr. Mustang GT_98

Just put a stock replacement on it. The high flow ones are way too expensive for no real benefit, and while the electric Meziere pump does help reduce parasitic drag and give you a couple horsepower, it's still an electric pump and has the capability to leave you stranded at any time or worse yet, overheat and blow you engine.

I've done the research on price. The ones that say high performance only cost about 20 bucks more then a stock replacement.

pump

Im using the Mezeire and I really like it, best thing to do is just add a warning light to your temp gauge, no biggy, but they are exspensive.

The only true high performance water pumps for the 4.6 cost a whole lot more than $20 additional to a stock one, I promise you that. $150 for the Stewart pump vs. $45 for a replacement.

I'm putting a Meziere on mine also, but for a stockish '98 NPI engine........... Not even close to worth the money

PI

If you were to do a PI swap and maybe some cams I would throw one on there and squeeeeeezzze out as much HP as you can. If you need a stock water pump send my your address and I will send you my old one, was nothing wrong with it, just switched to the electric.
