It seems VW has come a long way. I bet the Corrado was even faster than that. Ford has got to step up with things and don't even go to the 03 Cobra, when a Subaru can come that close to beating it. Ford has to step up to the plate. Chevy may possible lauch the Holden's Chevelle in the states. Who cares that we have a 500 HP 150K race car, Corvette has a 600HP on for less $$. At least Ford Pickup pulls in most of the money that Ford makes, at least that will keep them in business. Again just my 2¢

I could compare it to the Dodge Omni, How's that? Is it just so bad to say a foriegn car will beat a 98GT? If your offended, GET A LIFE. How many time have we heard of some Import that can kick our asses? Why is the VW any different, Just caause it can't kick my cars a$$ It can kick the old ones. Make it a 97 Supra and it proves my point, Ford has let it's competitors creep up on them without moving into better technology. I am a proud American and love Ford, Chevy and Dodge. It seem as though Ford isn't trying to keep up with the pack. Yea they came out with a 500HP car that most likely none of us will own, unless your rich. They only did this because Chevy changed the Vette. I could afford a Vette Z06 @ $52,000. Why doesn't Ford have a sports car that can keep up with a Vette for that price? The reason why is they have been sitting on the same technologyfor the past 8 years and done nothing but a head and intake change in 8 years.

They're all dead because they priced themselves out of the market.
BTW the engine in the Golf R34 has been around since the Corrado VR6.
The Supra engine is equally old.
