I have been into the eclipse world for some time, and i want to finally get one. I am selling my 1997 black Ford Mustang GT. It is a 5spd, power windows, locks, and power seat. New tires, clutch, transmission, and heater core. The Body is in great condition, as well as the interior, which is nylon. The car has just a MAC cold air intake, and pulleys, flowmasters, and bilstein suspension. Mach 460 sound system sounds great. All matience has been done on schedule. Oil is changed every 2500 miles. I am selling the car for 5150 but will take 4600 to sell it quick. Definately catches eyes. I am the second owener and my dad drives the car most the time. It has 126k, and runs very well. I thought the eclipses were slow stock? My sis was looking into buying a spider gt, and that thing wasnt very fast, i test drove it with her. I dunno though, in my opinion an eclipse is a lil girly, even if it is faster... just not my thing. But to each his own. Good luck selling ur car.
yes i agreee eclipses are girly..fastest i seen a 2000 or newer Gt run at the track was 15.6 and that was a 5-speed..i am actually faster..lol but the pre 2000 GS-t run about with me stock

Eclipses make great rental cars, I rent them all the time, I also get my a$$ kicked, I watch those taillights and think if only I could have brought my stang

I have a friend that has a 450 horsepower GSX, and would probably eat most of all yall alive at the track. Just thought i would throw my two cents in
where u get they are faster cause they are not.New ones are 7 some odd seconds to 60 and the older ones were slower then Mustang GT

yeah they can be fast with some money, just like stangs..but look at them..i almost bought a 98 GS when i had my 95 v-6 stang..so glad i didnt..but idid get a 2000 Celica GT-S, and i must say i was impressed with the NA 1.8 liter and the performance, but it was like 5,000 more then my 98 stang and had 10,000 more miles on it, fortunately, which made me mad at the time, i had to give it back after 2 weeks, it was a nice car..i missed the 6 speed but other then that..car was too cramped, uncomfortable for a 6ft2 person, and i got my 98 GT for 5 grand less, less miles and from what i sen at the track, my 98 is slow but the best i seen a celica gt-s do was like 15.8..sorry just dont like eclipses.i got a ex friend with a 95 GS-T that always talks smack, and its got over 100,000 miles and smokes, its a 5 speed but he is sure he blow me away, id think it be close, not blown away..but of course he wont ever try!!

Hey guys! Before you start bashing me YES I Drive a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution not a stang ; however, I have owned SEVERAL Mustangs, my dad and my brother both own and race cobras so I know a "little" about them.
I think you guys are confusing the Eclipses just a little. The new ones 2000+ are not speed beast's. Nope not even close. The Car he wants to get is a 2Generation ( 95 -99 ) GST. It's the 2.0 L Turbo version. These cars are very very very capable. With MINIMAL mods they can reach very high HP levels. Example my 97 Talon AWD was Dyno'd at 225 WHP with almost no mods excpet a boost controller and intercooler piping. About $300 in parts and a serious increase in WHP. Hell the car is only rated at 210 Flywheel HP. Like I said they are very capable. I like the Mustangs, always have and always will I just find it funny when someone who doesnt know a whole lot about a car trashes it because of misinformation.
PS - We just dyno'd a 97 GSX ( All Wheel Drive Turbo ) with 378 WHP.....
