Default My next mod and a question

Ok well I just ordered my next mod... I ordered Baer Brakes for the front. I'll actually be able to stop now . I'm hoping I get em by friday so I can put em on this weekend. Since I got the blower I have screwed up my brakes pretty bad. I warped the hell outta my rotors. Anyways, it's just about time to replace my brakes anyways, so why not upgrade em while I'm at it.

My question; I need to get some new tires soon. I wanna keep my stock rims, But I need a sticky street tire for all four corners. What size do you guys suggest? I heard Eagle F1's are good. I also was thinking about Nitto 555's... Any suggestions would help me out a lot. I don't know crap about tires.

just performance tires or all around, all year tires? I got falken ziex's, they were rated #1 by consumers for all around, all year performance. Pretty sticky, but i can break em away and i am not putting down the hp you are so i dunno. I would say goodyear or nitto's probably best.

Those are what I have now and I can't keep the power to the ground at 60+ mph. I have a friend of mine looking into goodyears for me right now.

I am Jealous!!!!!!
I want so bad to do the Baer kit on my 98!! Errgggg!!! JK
Tires.....well I suggest going to Summitracing.com and looking at their selection of tires...
The BF Comp T/A drag Radial tires are really good.
Discount tire has a great selection of Street slicks/radials that gripp well too.
I am currently looking for rear tires as well...........I am probabbly going with Yokohoma or nitto street drag radials......160$ per tire isn't too bad...

Matt: for that kind of power you need the best tire around, look for Pirelli PZero Asymetricos Ferrari uses it for a good reason .

That's an awesome tire but I think Matt is looking for more of a straight line tire. Tire Rack has them for $172 a piece. If you just want a sticky, go withsomething like a drag radial like the nitto 555R's or the BFG drag radial. Also Hoosier has a drag tire on Jegs, they say it's DOT legal but I can see problems with the police if your GT was wearing a pair of them. They look like slicks. If your looking to bang any corners hard though, those Pirellis are a good compomise.

BTW If you can't keep traction at 60mph, that means it's time to shift into 3rd

What's your guys take on the Good Year Eagle F1's? I know Pirelli's are good too. I'm looking to spend less then a grand installed for the set. These are going to be my everyday tires. I like to go through the twisties everyonce in a while. But I'm more concerned with straight line traction.

If you got a grand to drop on a set of tires, I'd go with the 555's and get a spare set of rims for drag radials. 555's aren't going to last long at all on that car though.

Tires don't last long on my car anyways ... No but seriously I'm willing to spend a grand on my street tires. I'll get slicks later. I'm not really in a hurry to get slicks. I have other plans

Default Tires/Brakes

Have you gone over to TireRack.com and done their comparison between ultra-performance tires? Assume you can run summer ultra-perf's? I'm running Yoka ES's on my summer wheels & Sumitomo's on the winter wheels. Attached brake pic - go for it!
